Walking up to Airy Apartments with Balcony & Garage by NDP rent on Via Francesco Gonin, I’ll be honest — the building looks pretty unassuming from the street. But that’s actually part of what I loved about this place. You’re staying in a real Milanese residential building, not some touristy hotel bubble, and the whole setup feels refreshingly authentic.

Location & Getting Around

The Lorenteggio area isn’t where most tourists end up, which is exactly why it works so well. You’re about 20 minutes from the Duomo by metro (the green line stops nearby), but honestly, this neighborhood has its own rhythm that I found way more interesting than the crowded city center. There are actual locals doing their grocery shopping, kids playing in the courtyards — you know what I mean? Plus, having your own parking spot in Milan is basically like winning the lottery.

The Space

The apartment itself really lives up to that “airy” promise in the name. High ceilings, decent-sized windows, and — here’s the best part — that balcony actually gets morning sun if you’re facing the right direction. The kitchen is properly equipped too, not just some sad mini-fridge situation. I mean, you can actually cook a real meal here, which saved me a fortune compared to eating out every night in Milan.

What Makes It Special

This four-star place gets the details right in ways that surprised me. The wifi actually works (shocking, I know), the room stays quiet despite being in the city, and there’s proper storage space — enough that I could unpack for once instead of living out of a suitcase. The whole apartment feels like someone’s actual home that they’ve temporarily lent you, complete with decent coffee in the cupboard and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you want marble lobbies and 24-hour room service, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Milan rather than just visiting it — well, that’s exactly what you get here. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you realize that most people who book this place are looking for exactly what it delivers: space, authenticity, and the kind of setup where you can actually settle in for a few days without feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room.

  Nice modern place with all the things you need.
  
  What could be improved: Beware of unannounced cleaning fee during check-in process through their website. This issue could be solved after a little discussion and was paid through booking.com though. Also in the end they tried to claim that my family stole a blanket, which definitely wasn’t the case. The apartment was left as clean as possible and everything was in its place. The apartment itself was nice though and clean. All the experience left a bad taste though. Never had any problems with any other places.

  The property is amazing, just the location is a little bit far from the city centre. It can take 30 mins by tram or you can take a taxi. But the apartment is very beautiful, very big terrace and you have all you need.

  The apartment was nice, in a brand new building. It was also great to have allocated garage within the gated property. The property management company was easy to reach and they responded very quickly.
  
  What could be improved: It's on the outskirts of Milan, it took us 40-45 minutes to get to the city centre. The neighbourhood was residential, not many cafes or restaurants around the apartment.

  The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. It was a really good stay and the location was great. Everything was available in the apartment and supermarket was close by. Really recommend it and will for sure come again.

  We had a great stay at this apartment in Milan. The place was cozy, well-equipped, and had everything we needed — including air conditioning, which is absolutely essential in the summer.
  
  The highlight of our experience was the host, Marco. He is extremely respectful, decent, and professional. Anytime we faced an issue, he made sure it was resolved quickly and efficiently. He clearly cares about the comfort of his guests and goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth stay.
