Arco della Pace Corso Sempione 12 Overview
First Impressions
Arco della Pace Corso Sempione 12 sits right on one of Milan’s most elegant boulevards, and honestly, the location does most of the heavy lifting here. This three-star property might not have marble lobbies or fancy concierge desks, but what it lacks in polish it makes up for with character. The building itself has that slightly worn Italian charm — you know, the kind where the elevator creaks a bit but somehow adds to the authenticity.
The Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying on Corso Sempione — you’re basically living like a local in one of Milan’s most residential areas. The Arco della Pace (that’s the triumphal arch, not just the hotel name) is literally a two-minute walk away, and Parco Sempione stretches out right there. I mean, you can grab a morning coffee and be strolling through the park before most tourists have even figured out the metro system. The Castello Sforzesco is right there too, which beats staying near Centrale and dealing with that chaos every morning.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was… well, it was functional. Clean sheets, decent shower pressure, and windows that actually open (not always a given in Milan). The space felt a bit cramped, but that’s pretty standard for European city hotels in this price range. What surprised me was how quiet it stayed at night — Corso Sempione can get busy during the day, but once evening hits, it settles down nicely. The air conditioning worked when it needed to, though I ended up just opening the windows most nights anyway.
Practical Matters
There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, that’s not really a problem here. The neighborhood has these little family-run places that locals actually eat at — way better than hotel food anyway. I found this tiny osteria about three blocks down that served the best risotto I had in Milan, and it cost less than what most hotel restaurants charge for a salad. The front desk staff spoke decent English and were genuinely helpful with directions, which you can’t always count on at smaller properties.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be anyone’s dream hotel, but it gets the job done if you want to stay somewhere authentic without breaking the bank. The real selling point is waking up in Sempione instead of the touristy center — you feel connected to actual Milan life rather than just passing through. Plus, you can walk to the Duomo in about twenty minutes when you want that tourist experience, but retreat back to a quieter corner when you need a break. For the price point and location, it actually makes a lot of sense, especially if you’re the type who spends most of your time exploring rather than hanging around the hotel.

Very good – Wouter from Belgium – 4 July 2024 (8/10)
Great location near the Arco della Pace and Parco Sempione, tram stops close by to visit the rest of Milan. Barely any traffic in this part of the street, lots of restaurants.
The appartement itself is clean, fairly spaceous and has all the utilities you may need. It's not brand new however, so here and there you see some wear and tear.
Owner is very quick to respond via phone or WhatsApp if you need anything.
Spending the last evening in the hot tub was a big plus.
What could be improved: There is some food for breakfast, but it isn't much so we did go shopping (at walking distance).
You need your phone and 4G to get in the building and the appartement. We've had other systems with a key behind a code lock, which feels more comfortable. Also using this system for the first time it was unclear how to lock the appartement door for our first day trip. Having a quick response from the owner came in handy here.
The bed was a bit to soft for our taste, but that's personal.Exceptional – Martin from Czech Republic – 2 July 2024 (10/10)
all was exelent , nice
What could be improved: i cant sayOver all good – Mitre from Australia – 23 May 2024 (9/10)
Location
What could be improved: BarroomNice and convenient but if you do have problems the host is not familiar with customer service – Amir from United Kingdom – 10 May 2024 (6/10)
Was a good location and had everything you could possibly need to be comfortable in an apartment. I felt listing breakfast was included was a bit of a stretch when it was a box of fruit and fibre, packets of dried bread/ toast and milk. The coffe, water and wine was a lovely touch though.
What could be improved: Host was not prepared for our arrival was not sent any documents to check in and had to wait till almost 5pm to be able to check in. There was also no real instructions of how to get in prior to arrival and when we contacted the host they wass very curt and sharp. Later on the first evening the automated door opening was not working for almost half an hour and again the host was very rude and curt over whatsapp blaming us for the problem which was not the case at all.
