Canova Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Canova Hotel, you’ll immediately notice it’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This three-star property on Via Napo Torriani has that unpretentious Italian charm that actually works better than places that oversell themselves. The lobby’s modest but welcoming, and honestly, after dealing with Milano Centrale’s chaos just outside, you’ll appreciate the calm atmosphere.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying near Centrale station — yes, it’s busy and a bit gritty, but you’re literally steps from trains to everywhere. I mean, you can be at the Duomo in Milan within 15 minutes on the metro, and if you’re planning day trips to Lake Como or the Alps, you couldn’t ask for better access. The neighborhood has that authentic working-class vibe with plenty of affordable eateries that locals actually frequent, not just tourist traps.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — you know, the kind of space where everything has its place. The beds are comfortable enough, and while the decor won’t win design awards, it’s clean and functional with decent lighting for reading. What I appreciated most was the effective soundproofing; considering you’re near a major train station, the noise level was surprisingly manageable at night.
Practical Amenities
The hotel’s restaurant serves solid Italian basics — nothing fancy, but the pasta dishes hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. There’s also parking available, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in Milan (though I’d recommend sticking to public transport in the city center). The staff speaks decent English and they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations, not just going through the motions.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Canova Hotel isn’t going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises at a fair price. You’re paying for a clean, safe place to sleep with unbeatable train connections and staff who care about your experience. For travelers who prioritize location and value over flashy amenities, this place makes perfect sense — especially if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than lounging in your hotel.

Reviews of Canova Hotel
A great hotel would highly recommend – Cameron from United Kingdom – 23 November 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and beds are comfy in a great location
We really liked everything except elevator haha – Bojana from Serbia – 20 November 2025 (8/10)
Staff was really nice, they even gave us rooms way ahead of time. We came earlier to the hotel and three rooms for us were ready at 9-10am. We are very grateful and satisfied.
The location couldn’t be better. Metro and the main railway station is right there (that railway station is also starting point for airport busses). And center (duomo) is only 2-3 metro stations away.
Breakfast is really good. It’s not just the usual stuff, there is also pizza, pastries with different flavours, a lot of sauces, huge choice of desserts, fruits etc.
What could be improved: They are renovating or building new elevator and there were a lot of noises. It wouldn’t be a problem if it’s only at some reasonable time but it was also in the morning… Also the only working elevator was really slow and many times we weren’t been able to ride it, we had to take stairs from 9th and 7th floor.Best location stay in Milan with good services. – Amina from Nigeria – 19 November 2025 (9/10)
Centrally located and the breakfast was superb!
What could be improved: There was no iron and board in the roomAll in all it was a good place to stay at. – Erik from Hungary – 16 November 2025 (7/10)
The breakfast was really good, and also the location. The staff was friendly and the hotel in general was clean.
What could be improved: Maybe that it was a bit loud at night from all the door shuting. They are pretty have heavy and you have to shut them really hard.A good overnight stay – Richard from Switzerland – 12 November 2025 (9/10)
Good location, clean comfortable room, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.
Nice and cosy near the train station. – Cy from Italy – 9 November 2025 (8/10)
Property itself is near the Milan Central Station. 5-10mins walk. Breakfast is amazing, lot of varieties of food choices. The room is nice and clean.
What could be improved: There’s a couple of things we find it odd in this place. The first one is the keycard to our room doesn’t work so they gave us a spare key to enter to our room. The staff was nice to us except to that one WHITE bearded guy who gave us bad attitude. We we’re out and returned to the hotel at 2:30am, the doors we’re locked so i tried ringing the bell so he can let us inside cause it was freezing. He gave us this weird look, i tried ringing like 3-5 times and this guy let us in at the end. Once we arrived at the reception desk, this guy questioned us like, “doesn’t we have a keycard ??” I told him we don’t have cause the keycard doesn’t work so they gave us spare key that at the time and i gave it back to the reception before we went out. The nerve of this guy questioning us our credibility even though i gave him our room number, yet he hesitated to give us the spare key. He did questioned me like my name, ecc…and giving us this attitude. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name but by far he is the worse in that hotel. At the end the manager guy gave us the keycard like 2 days after we checked in and they fixed it.Superb – Serdar from Poland – 6 November 2025 (9/10)
Location, personnel
What could be improved: Bed was very comfortable but it is little big for the room 🙂That was nice and very good to stay in this hotel maybe next again. – Carolina from Switzerland – 1 November 2025 (9/10)
I like because it‘s all near like resturant grocery and else ?
What could be improved: No comment?Very good – Rouya from Netherlands – 31 October 2025 (8/10)
location is close to Milan central station
What could be improved: Soundproofing was not very goodVery good – Mostafa from Ireland – 29 October 2025 (8/10)
