Walking up to Farini 6 on a quiet side street, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away in one of Milan‘s most dynamic neighborhoods, where the sleek Porta Nuova towers meet the grittier charm of Stazione Garibaldi. The entrance is understated but polished, which I actually appreciated after dealing with some of the more pretentious hotel lobbies around the city.

The Neighborhood Advantage

You know what really sold me on this place? The location is absolutely spot-on without feeling touristy. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Porta Garibaldi station, which means easy connections to Malpensa airport and pretty much anywhere else you need to go. But here’s the thing — step outside and you’re in this fascinating area where locals actually live and work. There’s a great little market nearby on Via Farini, and some seriously good aperitivo spots that most tourists never discover. The Bosco Verticale towers are right there too, so you get that modern Milan vibe without staying in some soulless business district.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve clearly put effort into maximizing every square meter. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. What I loved most was the attention to details: proper blackout curtains, enough outlets near the bed, and decent Wi-Fi that didn’t cut out every ten minutes. The soundproofing is pretty good too, which matters when you’re this close to a major train station.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in a cozy ground-floor space that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining room. Nothing fancy, but the coffee is proper Italian quality and there’s enough variety to keep you happy for a few days. I mean, you’re in Milan — you’ll probably want to grab your morning espresso at a local bar anyway, but it’s nice to have the option. The staff here actually seems to care about what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given. They gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots and helped sort out a small issue with my booking without any drama.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress. Couples especially seem to appreciate the intimate scale and the neighborhood setting — it feels like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than just passing through. The location score speaks for itself, but what the numbers don’t capture is how this area gives you access to both business Milan and the more authentic side of the city. You can walk to the fashion district, catch a train to Lake Como, or just wander the local streets and stumble onto something interesting. For the price point, Farini 6 delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t get in the way of why you came to Milan in the first place.

  La posizione è fantastica, a 5 minuti dalla metro e 2 minuti dal tram che ti porta in Duomo. Chinatown è dietro l'angolo così come il supermercato. Nonostante la posizione centrale ed il tram, essendo in cortile interno, è estremamente silenzioso. Non lo definirei confortevole ma ha il suo uso per dormire è eccellente. Il video per arrivare all'appartamento racchiude in 2 minuti almeno 3 pagine di istruzioni. Lascerei il secondo mazzo di chiavi e/o spingerei per mettere la chiave NFC per i portoni (e ne lascerei un paio, le chiavi si possono sempre lasciare nel lucchetto)
  
  What could be improved: Era buio ed il riflesso della torcia del cellulare rendeva la ruota della combinazione illegibile. L'illuminazione è difficile da raggiungere ed insufficiente sopratutto nella stanza grande e nella cucina (dietro la seconda porta). Più attenzione ad indicare (magari con icone) la posizione di piatti e bicchieri che ho faticato a trovare sopra la lavatrice. Tipico odore di umido di case di quell'età.
