First Impressions

Walking into Gambara Apartment on the fourth floor of a typical Milanese building, I was struck by how thoughtfully this space has been designed. You know what really got me? The way they’ve managed to create something that feels genuinely homey while still being polished enough for a four-star experience. It’s not trying too hard to impress — it just does.

The San Siro Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying in San Siro — most tourists skip right past this area, but honestly, that’s their loss. You’re living like a local in Milan here, away from the tourist crowds but still incredibly well-connected. The metro is practically around the corner, and I mean, you can be at the Duomo in maybe twenty minutes. Plus, if you’re into football, well, San Siro Stadium is right there (though I suspect you already knew that if you picked this neighborhood).

The Space Itself

This apartment really nails the balance between comfort and style. The room feels spacious — not cramped like so many Milan places — and there’s actually decent natural light, which is sort of a miracle in this city. What I loved most was the kitchen setup; it’s compact but actually functional, not one of those joke kitchenettes where you can barely make coffee. I ended up cooking a simple pasta dinner one night, and it felt perfectly natural.

Local Life and Practicalities

The neighborhood has this authentic Milan energy that you just don’t get in the city center. There’s a great little restaurant two blocks down that serves incredible risotto alla milanese — the kind of place where locals argue about football over lunch. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but that’s Milan for you. The building itself is classic Milan residential — think high ceilings and that particular Italian apartment building charm that makes you feel like you’re in a movie.

  A beautifully classic building with a very clean and comfortable apartment, equipped with all necessary facilities. Conveniently located near a Metro Station and just 10 minutes from the city center. The owner is friendly and helpful.

  Awesome interiors that is well maintained. Super wide apartment fully furnished, complete with the microwave, big ref, iron and pad, electric stove, plates, saucers, utensils, towels, tissues, soaps and other necessities. The Gambara metro station is just across and will take you to the Milan Central Station and the Milan Malpensa Express

  The lovely, huge Apartment is well maintained, very clean and has the necessities: sets of towels, hand towels, tissues, utensils, liquid soaps, iron and pad, microwave, a large ref, etc. There is also a Carrefour Supermarket, bakery and other shops nearby. The Gambara metro station is just a few meters away and very convenient to get to the Milan Central station and to Milan Malpensa Airport. Marina is very friendly too.

  Amazing apartment in a great location, literally 30 seconds away from Gambara Metro station which was very convenient for exploring the city. The apartment is very grand. We felt privileged to stay there. It really is beautiful and the photos don't do it justice. We felt the apartment provided excellent value for money compared to some of the other properties we stayed in during our trip to Italy. It was absolutely spotlessly clean on arrival and has every amenity one may need for a short or long stay. It is huge and very comfortable. The neighbourhood has everything you may need within walking distance, including cafes, restaurants, supermarkets etc.. a really good small supermarket right opposite the front door which was particularly handy for breakfast as we arrived late the first night. The hosts are very kind and accommodating and communication was excellent at all times. I can't recommend this apartment enough. We would love to stay here again the next time we're in Milano.
