First Impressions

Hotel Crivi’s sits right on Corso di Porta Vigentina, and honestly, the location caught me off guard in the best way possible. This four-star place doesn’t scream for attention from the street — it’s got this understated elegance that feels very Milanese. The entrance is clean and modern, but not flashy, which I actually appreciated after seeing some of the over-the-top lobbies around the city center.

Location & Getting Around

You’re basically in the heart of Milan here, walking distance from the Duomo but without the tourist chaos right outside your door. The Porta Vigentina area has this nice mix of locals and visitors — you’ll find real neighborhood cafes alongside the spots that cater to travelers. What I loved most is that you can walk to major sights, but you’re also close to the yellow metro line if your feet need a break.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they really maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The bed was comfortable (always my main concern), and the bathroom was updated with good water pressure, which you can’t always count on in this part of the city. The soundproofing works well too, considering you’re on a fairly busy street. I mean, you might hear some traffic if you’re a light sleeper, but nothing that kept me awake.

Practical Details

The staff here actually knows what they’re doing — they gave me solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, with Milan’s food scene right outside, that’s not really a problem. The neighborhood has everything from quick espresso stops to proper dinner spots. Parking can be arranged through the hotel, though like everywhere in central Milan, it’ll cost you.

What works about Hotel Crivi’s is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, well-run place that gets the basics right — clean rooms, helpful staff, and a location that actually makes sense for exploring Milan. The price point feels fair for what you get, especially considering you’re staying in the city center without paying premium rates. It’s the kind of place where you’ll sleep well and wake up ready to tackle the city.

  Above all, the cleanliness of the house is beautiful, the neighborhood is not scary at night, and it is close to the train station I had a very enjoyable time. I don't think anyone has enjoyed their breakfast as much as I have. The host is very cooperative and polite during breakfast. I can't thank the cleaning staff as well.
  
  What could be improved: The thing that really upsets me is that they charge 3€ for drinking water for a guest who pays 200€ per day and more. This is very easy for the hotel because the hotel does not buy 1 bottle of water for 3€. But for the tourist or guest, 3€ for half a liter of water is too much. I think it would be good if they fixed this. The other thing was the TV was not working.

  Good location, comfortable beds. Room was spacious and the bathroom as well. It was clean and we could not hear any noise.
