ITD unione Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to ITD unione on Via dell’Unione, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked into this narrow street in the heart of Milan‘s historic center, but you’d honestly walk right past it if you weren’t looking. The entrance is understated in that distinctly Italian way, where elegance doesn’t need to shout. This four-star property feels more like a boutique hotel than anything corporate, which I actually appreciated after staying in some of the bigger chains around the city.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what you need to know about the location — you’re literally steps from La Scala and the Duomo, but on a quieter side street that locals actually use. I mean, Via dell’Unione connects the main tourist areas without being overrun by tour groups every morning. You can walk to Brera in about ten minutes, and the Quadrilatero della Moda (that’s the fashion district) is right there when you want to window shop or blow your budget on Italian leather.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — typical Milan, really, where space is premium but style isn’t negotiable. What impressed me was the attention to details: proper blackout curtains (essential for jet lag recovery), a minibar that wasn’t ridiculously overpriced, and honestly, the best shower pressure I had during my entire Italy trip. The decor walks that fine line between contemporary and classic Italian without feeling like a design magazine threw up everywhere.
Practical Stuff That Matters
The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — not just the obvious tourist spots but where to grab the best aperitivo or find a decent late-night pharmacy. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, you’re in Milan’s city center, so you’ve got incredible dining options within a two-minute walk. The building is older (which adds character), but they’ve updated everything that actually matters for comfort.
Why Guests Love It
What sets ITD unione apart is that balance between location and authenticity — you’re staying somewhere that feels genuinely Milanese rather than generically international. The 8.1 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Milan base: comfort, style, and that perfect location that lets you explore on foot. Plus, the value is solid for what you get in this part of the city, which isn’t something you can say about every hotel near the Duomo.

Reviews of ITD unione
Thanks, we had a great time… – Dclark from United States – 2 November 2025 (9/10)
1 – This was a cozy place to stay with plenty of dishes and appliances.
1 – The location is very close to major attractions like Duomo di Milano, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, & great shopping and so much more.
2 – Close to grocery stores, great restaurants, and also close to subway & trolley stations.
3 – Property Manager provided great instructions & responded quickly to our questions.
What could be improved: 1 – Cleaning rags and mop bucket were left in the bathroon & the rags were particular dirty & smelly.
2 – This item may not be a bad thing, but the bed was very hard.
3 – One must use caution when using the stairs to the bed loft.Fantastic location, ideal for a 1 or max 2 night stay – Martin from Malta – 20 April 2025 (7/10)
The location could not have been better
What could be improved: It is very small.
In my opinion, not the most comfortable and quite noisyIt was a pretty good stay in the heart of Milan. – Animesh from Netherlands – 24 January 2025 (8/10)
Location is amazing. All the attractions and metro are near by.
What could be improved: It’s well managed but the kitchen lights are not that bright.Wonderful stay in Milan – Vincent from United States – 1 November 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Left too soon! LOL!Milan – Ana from Uruguay – 10 October 2024 (7/10)
The appartment is located in a perfect spot to walk everywhere in the hot spots of Milan. Francesco is a great host.
Very good – Lianne from New Zealand – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
The location is amazing with the duomo and metro station only metres away. Despite the central location it backed on to a side street so was quiet. The apartment was well equipped and the washing machine was a bonus!
What could be improved: It was tricky to find initially.Good – Véronique from Sweden – 12 August 2024 (7/10)
Location
What could be improved: No good air-con and no comfortable sleeping arrangementWe loved the place! – Paulo from Spain – 18 July 2024 (9/10)
Mostly everything. Host met us at check-in and was very helpful. Location is an 11 out of 10.
What could be improved: Only 2 things weren't perfect. The loft area doesn't have an outlet (or maybe we couldn't find it) and the ac doesn't do much for the loft. The kids were very comfortable on the sofa bed downstairs, but we were too hot upstairs. It was 93F (34⁰ C) outside during the day. I definitely recommend the place unless you are going in the middle of the summer with more than 2 people llike we did.Perfect location perfect stay – Ahsen from Turkey – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
Location and the facilites are perfect. Stephano is a very good host and so helpful. Electrical fuses may blow, but they are resolved quickly.
Very good – Amal from Morocco – 2 March 2024 (8/10)
