This three-star place sits right in the Porta Vittoria area, and there’s something refreshing about staying in an actual apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. The building itself is typical Milanese residential style, which means you’re really living like a local for a few days.

Via Luisa Battistotti Sassi isn’t exactly a street tourists stumble upon by accident, but that’s actually what makes it work. You’re in Milan without being right in the chaos of the Duomo area — I mean, you can still get there easily, but you’ll sleep better at night. The Porta Vittoria district has this interesting mix of residential calm and urban energy, with plenty of cafés where locals actually go for their morning espresso.

The Space

What really sets this place apart is having your own kitchen — and I’m talking about a proper one, not some sad mini-fridge situation. You know what’s nice? Being able to grab fresh ingredients from the local market and actually cook something instead of eating out every single meal. The balcony they mention in the name is small but functional — perfect for that morning coffee or a glass of wine while watching Milan go about its evening routine.

Practical Details

The 7.2 rating makes sense once you spend a night here. It’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but everything works as it should. The internet is solid (which matters if you’re trying to figure out Milan’s public transport), and the apartment stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the city. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood — honestly, I’d recommend using public transport anyway since you’re well-connected to the metro.

Why Guests Love It

This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll spend much time lounging around — Milan’s got too much to offer for that. But when you come back after a long day of wandering through Brera or shopping in Quadrilatero, having your own space feels pretty great. The balcony becomes surprisingly important for those moments when you just need to step outside without leaving your temporary home. For the price point and the independence it offers, it’s actually a smart choice if you want to experience Milan more like a resident than a tourist.

  The apartment was beautiful and very spacious. It's in a great location close to public transportation to get you to the city center. There are lots of food and shopping options within walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: Very bad check-in experience – I had to reach out to the company to request instructions after the check-in window began, and then I experienced many technical issues with their website. The instructions for accessing the building and apartment were so unclear that someone had to video-call me to explain how to get inside. The issues I experienced with locks in the apartment made me hesitant to leave the apartment outside of the host's business hours for fear I would get locked out. Also, the kitchen was very poorly stocked compared to many other apartments I've stayed in.

  Mosquitoes in the bedroom.
  VERY LOUD construction noise from neighbouring apartment from 8am every day.
  Lizards in the bathroom and in the kitchen. Yes, LIZARDS!
  Dirty towels.
  Jacuzzi useless because no plug in bath.
  Unsafe shower. No curtain meant soaking wet floor. No safety handles. Unpleasant smell in bathroom.
  Several bags of dirty linen stashed in wardrobe.
  Kitchen not clean.
  Bedbugs
  Hostile neighbours. "NO B2B" scratched on door!
  Disinterested host and agent. No customer service at all.

• Apartament idealny na urlop w Mediolanie ze znajomymi – Izabela from Poland – 16 August 2023 (8/10)

  Apartament przestronny z dwoma łazienkami (jedna mniejsza z prysznicem, druga większa z wanna). Mieszkanie w pełni wyposażone w naczynia, garnki, sztućce czy komplet ręczników na osobę. Bezpłatne, sprawnie działające WiFi. Mieszkanie jest na 4 pietrze. W budynku jest winda co prawda jak z filmu Titanic, ale jest i działa. Bardzo dobra lokalizacja. 10min do stacji metra Susa – nowa linia M4 i 15min do przystanku autobusowego. W pobliżu sklep spożywczy. Apartament posiada balkon i bezpłatną klimatyzacje. Check-in odbywa się internetowo, tak samo odebranie kluczy. Wszystko dobrze działa i nie ma z tym problemu. Stały kontakt z właścicielem przez booking.
  
  What could be improved: W mieszkaniu nie działała zmywarka. Nie ma czajnika. W wyposażeniu była kawiarka jednak 4 osoby nie potrafiły jej otworzyć.
  W trakcie naszego pobytu była potężna burza w Mediolanie i woda wylewała się przez okna.
