Porta Venezia has this lovely residential vibe during the day, with local cafés where baristas actually remember your order after a couple visits. The Porta Venezia metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk, which means you can be at Centrale station in about ten minutes or hit the fashion district without dealing with taxi drama.

The Space Itself

The room setup works well for what it is — you get that apartment-style independence without the hotel fuss. There’s a proper kitchen area, which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in Milan every meal gets expensive fast. The space feels bright (living up to that “Luminoso” name), and while it’s not going to win design awards, everything you need is there and actually works.

Neighborhood Life

What you’ll discover pretty quickly is that this area comes alive in the evenings. There’s this great little restaurant around the corner — I think it’s called Osteria del Borgo — where locals actually eat, not just tourists taking Instagram photos. The morning market on weekends is where you’ll see real Milanese families doing their shopping, and there’s something satisfying about being part of that rhythm instead of just observing it from some fancy hotel lobby.

Why It Makes Sense

Look, this isn’t the Ritz, and it’s not trying to be. With a 7.1 rating, you know you’re getting something solid but not spectacular — and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. You get your own space, you’re well-connected to everything that matters in Milan, and you’re not paying for services you probably won’t use anyway. The parking situation can be tricky (it’s Milan, after all), but if you’re smart about using public transport, you won’t miss having a car.   Great sized apartment for 4 adults. The kitchen and lounge area were good. Location was good with transport links to the tourist locations.
  
  What could be improved: The air-conditioning did not work. It turned on but didn't make a difference to the apartment temp. There were 3 air-conditioning units and none of them made any difference, even though they were on the entire time we were there. The hosts need to fix this issue as it made the apartment uncomfortable.

  The property was nice, spacious, clean and very nice design. Giovanni and Arianna were super helpful and answered our questions even at midnight. 🙂 The location was also quite convenient and neighbourhood was beautiful.
  
  What could be improved: The price was quite high but I guess it's because it's Milano. Also there wasn't enough hot water in the evening. There were 6 of us taking showers and for the last 3-4 people there was no hot water anymore. And we were not having showers for too long (10 minutes each), and nor was it there in the morning. The coffee machine didn't work either.

  We could organize the check in time flexibly. Check out time was stretched to 12am after request. Appartment was well furnished. Balcony is awesome. Beds are comfy.
  
  What could be improved: Prior to the trip it was not possible to reach the host via booking.com (no answers). I had to contact them via Whatsapp after finding a phone number on the booking.com website of the appartment.

  We loved our stay here! The man who checked us in was very helpful, talked us through everything and made sure we were happy before leaving. I also thought it was lovely that we recieved a message via booking.com a few days into our stay to check we were happy with everything.
  The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for a short break. We stayed in winter and it was warm, although a little too warm for us but we could adjust the heating to suit. The location was AMAZING! Short walk in/out of the centre, but also plenty of great shops and delicious restaurants in closer proximity.
  
  What could be improved: We would have rated our stay 10/10 if some of these things hadn't been overlooked. We felt the cleanliness and attention to detail could have been better, when we arrived there were cleaning sprays left out, a full ashtray on the balcony, bulbs not working in some lights and some instructions on how to adjust the heating would have helped us on our very warm first night!
