Via Orti sits in one of those pockets of Milan City Centre where locals actually live, not just tourists passing through. I mean, you’re still walking distance from the Duomo, but you get to experience Milan like someone who belongs here. There’s a fantastic little bakery two blocks down where I grabbed my morning cornetto, and the Metro stop is close enough that you can easily hop over to Navigli for dinner without feeling like you’re commuting.

The Space

Each apartment here feels thoughtfully designed — not just decorated, but actually lived in. The kitchen isn’t some tiny afterthought; it’s equipped well enough that I actually used it, which rarely happens when I’m traveling. The contemporary furnishings work perfectly against the building’s classic bones, and there’s this sense of space that you just don’t get in traditional hotel rooms. Everything feels intentional, from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the seating areas.

What I loved most was how the staff treated the place — they clearly take pride in maintaining something special rather than just processing guests. The building itself has character without being fussy about it, and the whole setup gives you independence while still having support when you need it.   What a nice place to stay! This was, for us, just a one-night stopover on our way elsewhere, but I would recommend it to anyone who is staying longer, as well. It was just as described – clean, modern – in a pleasant neighborhood, with several good restaurants just down the block. The manager, Orietta, was extremely nice and helpful – after showing us how everything worked, she recommended some of her favorite restaurants, and called a cab for us for the next morning.

  The Host was absolutely amazing. She met us to hand over the keys and checked that we had everything we needed. She was very responsive on whats app and provided recommendations for restaurants and general info we needed. Clean coffee machine and dishwasher available.

  Great location. Orietta greeted us when we arrived. Made sure we had all that we needed. The bed was wonderful, the apartment was quiet. The shower was excellent. We had espresso each morning in our room with the provided machine/coffee.

  spacious for the cost, very clean and comfortable with a fairly well stocked kitchen, small freezer in the mini-fridge. close to several restaurants frequented by locals, close to metro stops. We felt very safe walking around. the owner was easy to reach on Whatapp. owner left taxi #'s and Whatsapp # for taxi's that saved us when the one we booked didn't show up as we thought it was scheduled. She also messaged us some recommendations on restaurants in the area. She was able to let us check in early if needed, but we ended up not showing up early
  
  What could be improved: only gave us 2 towels (one for each of us) for 3 nights, and when asked for a couple more towels for our final day show before check out we were given a long text about this not being a hotel and their policy is cleaning every 6 days and towels normally have to be requested 24hr prior to needing and a charge incurred-she did wave this and make an exception but I had to argue and go back and forth quite a bit explaining my view that we didn't need house keeping nor did we expect that-we just thought 4 towels left for 2 people was appropriate if no one was coming during our stay. sometimes on vacation you need to do a second shower before going out in the evening and I do not feel expecting me to use a towel 4-6 times is appropriate. a second, back up kitchen towel would be appreciated as well in case the one given gets soiled.
  
  we were told it was a microwave above the stove but found out by trying to cook popcorn that it is both an oven and a microwave depending on the dial -since there were no instructions or words on it this was an easy mistake that could have caused a fire b/c I actually had on the broil setting-we recommended the owner put instructions to avoid others doing this and she agreed to do so.
  
  it was a bit far to walk to the sites so we did have to take the metro or a taxi, some people may be okay with the walking, and the metro was pretty easy to figure out. Taxis were pretty reasonable also but can only be gotten by the taxi app to the address or going to a taxi pick up location-not sure if there is one by the apt to go to, but we did find them near the main attractions to return to the apt-the up side was how quiet it was being away from those tourist sites and where the locals eat & shop

  The property was clean, accessible and safe. I also appreciate Orietta sending me lots of useful tips for Milan, I was able to have a very yummy breakfast at one of the cafes nearby thanks to her recommendation.

  We enjoyed a wonderful stay at these apartments, very close walk to the connecting train stations. Very clean and modern with everything you need, great security with automatic room lock and the most warm and inviting host that kept amazing communication throughout our stay.
