First Impressions

Walking into the Milan Marriott Hotel, you immediately get that sleek, business-meets-style vibe that Milan does so well. The lobby has this contemporary Italian design thing going on — lots of marble, warm lighting, and furniture that looks like it belongs in an architecture magazine. It’s not trying too hard to be flashy, which I actually appreciate. The staff greets you in that polished Marriott way, and honestly, the check-in process was smoother than most four-star places I’ve stayed at.

The Fiera Milano Area

This hotel sits right in the City Life district, which is basically Milan’s modern business hub. You know what’s great about this location? You’re walking distance from the Fiera Milano exhibition center — hence the name — but also close to some impressive skyscrapers and the Tre Torri complex. The area feels very “new Milan” if that makes sense. There’s a metro station nearby that’ll get you to the Duomo in about 20 minutes, and honestly, that’s pretty reasonable for a city this size.

Room Experience

My room was on the eighth floor with a view of the city skyline, and I mean, it wasn’t spectacular but definitely decent. The space feels distinctly Marriott — you know, that reliable comfort level with a king bed, good blackout curtains, and a work desk that’s actually usable. The bathroom had this nice rainfall shower, and the water pressure was solid. What I really liked was the air conditioning — it actually worked well, which isn’t always a given in European hotels during summer.

Dining and Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist, and I have to say, the risotto was surprisingly good for hotel food. Breakfast is your typical international buffet spread, but they do include some nice Italian pastries and decent coffee — though let’s be real, you’re in Milan, so you’ll probably want to grab your espresso from a local bar anyway. There’s also a fitness center that’s well-equipped enough for a proper workout, and the spa area is small but relaxing.

Look, this isn’t the most charming boutique hotel in Milan, but it delivers exactly what you’d expect from a solid Marriott property. Business travelers love the reliable Wi-Fi and meeting facilities, while leisure guests appreciate the easy access to both the modern City Life area and central Milan. The parking situation is handled well too — they have a garage, which is honestly a relief in this city. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without any surprises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re dealing with the chaos of travel.

  We had a wonderful stay in a newly renovated room that was impeccably clean and very well maintained. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The location is excellent—situated in a pleasant residential area and just a short walk from the metro station, making it very convenient for getting around the city. We really enjoyed the breakfast, which was delicious and offered a good variety of food. Highly recommended for both comfort and convenience!

  Breakfast was fantastic, lots of variety and choice for everyone.
  Room size was good, there were 4 of us so we had the family room. Plenty of towels to cater for all of us.
  
  What could be improved: Upon check in, the hotel ‘held’ an extra €150 extra to the actual amount to be paid for the stay. I found this unusual as normally the actual amount for the stay is taken and you’re informed that your card details are held in case there are any further charges. It was released after check out, but just something to be aware of.
  First morning at breakfast I had to go to reception to get authorisation that breakfast was included in our stay ( booking made included breakfast). I had to show my booking confirmation on my phone and they still sought approval from their finance department, seemed a little disorganised.
  Other than that, our stay was pleasant and the service received from the restaurant staff, especially the two ‘Monica’s’ was excellent.

  We received an upgrade at the checkin which was very nice. The hotel was excellent with very comfortable room, equipped with all the necessities. While there is a renovation going on, we did not even feel or noticed anything. The executive room we have was very big and comfortable with all the amenities. Wonderful bathroom.
  
  What could be improved: The coffee selection in the room could be improved. There were a few capsules but did not have just a simple black espresso.
