Naviglio Dream – Via Codara Overview
First Impressions
Naviglio Dream – Via Codara sits on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos, yet you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the famous Navigli canals. The building itself has that understated Milanese charm — nothing flashy, but clean lines and a sense that locals actually live in this neighborhood. When I first walked up, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d found the right place until I spotted the discreet signage.
The Navigli Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Milan — you get the real deal without paying centro storico prices. The Navigli district comes alive at night with aperitivo spots and restaurants that actually cater to Milanese residents, not just tourists snapping photos of the canals. You know what’s great? You can walk to Porta Genova station in about eight minutes, which connects you to the metro system and gets you to Duomo in roughly fifteen minutes.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — think modern Italian efficiency rather than cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a three-star property, and I actually slept really well despite being someone who usually struggles with hotel beds. There’s good blackout curtains (essential for light sleepers), and the air conditioning works properly, which isn’t always a given in older Milan buildings.
Practical Details
The staff speaks decent English and seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. Parking isn’t included, but honestly, you don’t need a car in this location anyway — everything’s walkable or easily accessible by metro. The neighborhood has several small grocery stores and a morning market that locals frequent, so you get a real sense of daily Milanese life.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’ll blow you away with amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels authentically Milanese without breaking the bank, Naviglio Dream delivers exactly what it promises. The 8.4 rating makes sense — it’s solid, reliable, and positioned perfectly for exploring both the trendy Navigli scene and the rest of Milan. Plus, you’ll probably end up spending most of your time wandering the canals anyway, discovering little wine bars and trattorias that you’d never find staying in the more obvious tourist zones.
Hotels in Milan dot historic Brera district, cathedral squares, and design quarters brimming with artisan workshops.

Reviews of Naviglio Dream – Via Codara
Exceptional – Mark from Italy – 31 July 2025 (10/10)
The communication with the host was quite good. We sent two professors here, it seemed to work well!
Very clean and well designed apartment, just needs a few more essentials to make it excellent. – Andrea from Australia – 30 June 2025 (8/10)
The newly renovated apartment was very comfortable for 2 couples. The location was good, close to good cafes and restaurants. we enjoyed our stay. The beds were very confortable.
What could be improved: There could have been a bit more kitchen and laundry items ( washing powder, dishwashing detergent, tea towel, wine glasses etc.
The phone method of keyless entry was confusing at the start but was a very good sytem when used to itGreat break to watch the Champions League – Ian from United Kingdom – 8 November 2024 (8/10)
Good location, central to all amenities. Apartment extremely clean and well presented.
What could be improved: Noisy people above partying after the clubs had closed.Great location to stay, close to the city center! Spacious apartment – Oshi from Israel – 19 September 2024 (7/10)
The location of the apartment is amazing. Navigli district has charming canals, lively atmosphere, and has many restaurants, bars and cafe nearby, plus very close to the city center, about 20 min walk, 5 min walk to the metro station and 1 min to the tram station. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms fully equipped and a balcony. The beds were very comfy.
What could be improved: The bedrooms weren't clean, there were dead flies on the bed sheets and the blankets had dust and stains on them so we couldn't use them, when we asked for new sheets, blankets and toilet paper we were told we needed to pay so they would deliver them to us. The entrance instructions were clear but sometimes there were problems with the app opening the door so we had to try multiple times, take in mind you need to have internet to use the app to open the door to the building and apartment. In the building there is an elevator but the entrance has stairs, so we needed to carry the heavy luggage by ourselves. We had a good afternoon/evening evening exploring the area but the views from the front and back of the apartment we – Sally from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (8/10)
Extremely spacious and clean
What could be improved: Not the best locationSuperb – M from Romania – 19 April 2024 (9/10)
The location is great, you can get anywhere with the tram, there are shops really close for groceries, pizza, meat, cheese.
There's a playground right in front of the building.
The promenade along the river is just next to the building, you can see it from the balcony.
The appliances are amazing, like new and great quality – fridge, AC everywhere, dishwasher, oven, washing machine.
The space and the layout is great for families with kids.
What could be improved: The floors were kind of dusty and the sofa was not clean enough – a little vacuum would have been great in here.Pleasant – Judy from United Kingdom – 12 September 2023 (6/10)
Close to groceries & restaurants. Comfortable
What could be improved: Entry into the building was confusing at first but secure, as was entering the apartment.
The lift did not open on our floor. Very difficult with luggage and we felt we may have got stuck in lift, so were unable to use. We specifically asked if building had working lift. We wouldn't have stayed there had we known the lift was faulty.
Shower drain in the bathroom was blocked.
Could do with a toaster, apart from that okGood – Aykut from Turkey – 1 July 2023 (7/10)
antrence was so complicated
What could be improved: Door keysVery good – Cindy from Indonesia – 30 June 2023 (8/10)
