Olimpia Fidias bilocale isola Overview

First Impressions

Olimpia Fidias bilocale isola sits right on Piazza Fidia, and honestly, the location caught me off guard in the best way. You’re in the Stazione Garibaldi area, which means you’re perfectly positioned between Milan’s buzzing business district and the emerging Porta Nuova skyline. This apartment-style accommodation feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel — which, depending on what you’re after, could be exactly what you need.

The Space

The bilocale setup gives you a proper living area separate from the bedroom, and I mean, that makes such a difference when you’re staying more than just a night or two. There’s a small kitchenette that’s actually functional — not one of those token setups where you can barely make coffee. The room itself is clean and straightforward, nothing fancy but everything works as it should. You know what I appreciated? The windows are well-positioned so you get decent natural light without feeling like you’re in a fishbowl.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about this area — Milan keeps evolving, and Stazione Garibaldi is right in the thick of that change. You’ve got the train station literally within walking distance, which makes getting to and from the airports ridiculously easy. Plus, the Porta Nuova business district is right there, so if you’re here for work, you can actually walk to most meetings. The neighborhood has this interesting mix of old Milan character and new development that I found pretty compelling.

Practical Matters

As a three-star place, Olimpia Fidias delivers on the basics without trying to be something it’s not. The building feels secure, check-in was smooth, and they’re responsive when you need something. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town — like most of central Milan, really — so factor that in if you’re driving. The area has plenty of cafes and small eateries within a few blocks, which comes in handy since you have that kitchenette to work with.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with marble bathrooms or designer furniture, but it solves the right problems for the right price. The separate living space actually matters when you’re spending real time in the city, and being this close to major transport links without paying premium rates feels like getting away with something. The Porta Nuova towers create this dramatic backdrop that somehow makes even mundane morning coffee feel a bit more cosmopolitan. It’s solid, practical, and honestly pretty smart for exploring Milan without breaking the budget.

Very closed to trein station Garibaldi.and Tram , it had utensilios and fridge if you need to cook

What could be improved: The pillows where bad at list my , no soap or shampoo and thin walls , if your a light sleeper this is not for you

  • 2 days in Milano – Benoit from France – 30 October 2024 (8/10)

It was very well localised & accessible ! Good reactivity of the owner.

What could be improved: A little bit small

  • Superb – Bruno from Czech Republic – 29 September 2024 (9/10)

    The location.

What could be improved: The towels were not washed enough (low temperature)

  • Quick stay but this property is not as good as was made out to be in the reviews – Richard from United Kingdom – 22 September 2024 (6/10)

It did the job for the night

What could be improved: The sofa bed was not comfortable at all . We were not told we needed a code for the door on the relevant floor that could have seen us locked out in the early hours . No change so paid extra on the city tax , sooner it be included in the price , which was expensive for what we got I thought

  • Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. – Luke from United Kingdom – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

The location was excellent with some good bars and restaurants close by and excellent transport links through the tram stop and Milano Porta Garibaldi train station which were both a 5 minute walk away.

What could be improved: The sofa bed was a tiny bit uncomfortable but was fine for me (6ft+ adult) for 3 nights.

  • It was very nice and comfortable – Yari from Netherlands – 9 July 2024 (10/10)

    The bed was very comfortable

What could be improved: The kitchen needs a cover on the wall to avoid stains. And the floor door wasn’t working (it didn’t close)

  • Overall nice stay in older but very comfortable apartment in a buzzing area. – Maria from New Zealand – 25 April 2024 (8/10)

Comfortable stay in a location surrounded by all conveniences. Cafes, bars transport all on your doorstep. Really secure building so we felt very safe. Porto Garibaldi 8 minutes or so walk. Host was very responsive to all out needs and the small kit had some supplies. Very nice host.

  • Very good for a stay in Milano! – Bianka from Hungary – 4 February 2024 (9/10)

It was very good located, metro is very close. The apartman was clean, the heating was good also, (it was cold outside so we needed to heat up the apartman. The location is secure and it’s not a “bad area” in Milano. The beds were comfy, and everything was really good and we loved it.

One thing, you have to wait for hot water when you shower because of the heating of the tube.
That was a bit slow, but was ok!
