Pinturicchio 21 Overview
First Impressions
Pinturicchio 21 sits on a quiet residential street in Milan‘s Porta Garibaldi area, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking. That’s actually part of its charm — this three-star place feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s apartment than a traditional hotel. The entrance is understated, tucked into a typical Milanese building, but once you’re inside, the modern touches and clean lines make it clear someone put real thought into this space.
The Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in a proper residential area where actual Milanese people live, not some touristy bubble. There’s a fantastic little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM (trust me on this), and the Porta Garibaldi train station is maybe an eight-minute walk. You know what’s really handy? The Corso Como nightlife district is close enough that you can stumble back after dinner, but far enough that you won’t hear the noise at night.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — everything had its place, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a three-star spot. The bathroom was modern with good water pressure, which honestly matters more than most people think when you’ve been walking around Milan all day. What struck me was how quiet it was; the windows face the courtyard, so you get natural light without the street noise. The air conditioning actually works properly too, which isn’t always a given in older Italian buildings.
Practical Matters
There’s no on-site restaurant, but they serve a simple continental breakfast that gets the job done — decent coffee, fresh pastries, the usual suspects. The staff is genuinely helpful without being overbearing, and they seem to actually know the neighborhood well enough to give proper recommendations. I mean, they directed me to a little trattoria that I never would’ve found on my own, and it ended up being one of my best meals in the city.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Pinturicchio 21 isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a clean, comfortable, well-located place that does the basics really well. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point — it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you got good value without any unpleasant surprises. Plus, staying here puts you in touch with residential Milan in a way that the bigger hotels near the Duomo just can’t match.

Posizione perfetta in zona residenziale ben collegata. Stanza pulitissima, materasso molto comodo. L'host gentilissimo e disponibile. C'é una piccola cucina in comune, utile per la colazione e piccoli pasti. Consigliato. ,

Very good – Lars from Belgium – 14 September 2025 (8/10)
Great responsiveness of staff, which made checking-in easy and without worries.
What could be improved: I got the impression from Booking that this is a hotel. It is rather a room with a private toilet and bathroom. Nothing wrong with this, but I was under the impression that I hade booked something else.Very good – Žan from Slovenia – 1 July 2025 (8/10)
Clean room, comfortable bed, good location.
What could be improved: Bad sound isolation between other rooms and kitchen.Good place to stay in Milan – Jelena from Latvia – 11 June 2025 (10/10)
The hosts are very helpful and nice.
Everyting was clean and the apartment had everything we needed. We felt that the hosts cared about us. The neighbourhood was quiet and we felt safe.
The location is good, just 10 minute walk from 2 different metro stations, some nice bars and restaurants also are near.
What could be improved: I would recommend to give guests 2 sets of keys if 2 people are staying.Nice quiet fully renovated 2 bedroom apartment – Louise from France – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
The place is lovely. Quiet and comfortable. It looks onto a courtyard so it’s quiet and it’s completely renovated, so everything is clean and new. The owners met us and showed us everything, so no complaints there. The only thing I would say is that it is a two room apartment with limited noise insulation, where, if you don’t know the other guest, you may feel uncomfortable. Especially if you are a woman travelling alone. If travelling in a couple or a solo man it’s certainly a good option.

Can only say positive things! If you travel a lot, absolutely sufficient! The room is very clean and pretty modern too! The owners are very friendly! I was able to do my check-in and check-out according to my train travel times. They responded quickly and helpfully via the booking chatting function. Very nice! The location is also great, you can quickly get to the subway and there are bars and restaurants nearby.
Thank you for everything!
