When I first walked up to this three-star place, I’ll admit I was a bit unsure — it’s tucked into what looks like a regular apartment building. But that’s actually part of its charm, and once you’re inside, you realize the owners have created something pretty special here.

The Neighborhood Reality

Via Beato Angelico isn’t where most tourists end up, which is exactly why I liked it. You’re in a proper Milanese neighborhood where locals grab their morning coffee and kids ride bikes on the sidewalks. The metro isn’t right outside your door, but honestly, the 15-minute walk to Porta Garibaldi station becomes part of your daily Milan routine. Plus, there’s a fantastic little bakery two blocks down that I stumbled upon completely by accident.

What You’re Actually Getting

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — and I mean thoughtfully, not just crammed with furniture. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the bathroom actually had decent water pressure, which isn’t always a given in converted buildings like this. What struck me most was how clean everything felt, from the floors to the windows. The owners clearly take pride in maintaining the place, and it shows in those small details that matter when you’re tired from walking around Milan all day.

Daily Life Here

Mornings start with a simple breakfast setup — nothing fancy, but the coffee is proper Italian strong, and there’s enough to fuel your day. The staff (well, it’s really more like a family operation) speaks decent English and genuinely wants to help you figure out Milan. They gave me restaurant recommendations that I never would’ve found on my own, places where locals actually eat instead of the touristy spots near La Scala.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

Here’s what I think makes this place work: it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re not getting marble lobbies or fancy amenities, but you are getting a real taste of living in Milan rather than just visiting it. The value is solid for what you pay — especially considering Milan’s hotel prices can be absolutely brutal. If you want to feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-kept home rather than a generic hotel, and you don’t mind being a bit outside the immediate city center, this actually makes a lot of sense.

Milan’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike paths to hidden Leonardo da Vinci sites.

  Emplacement bien situé dans un quartier sympa et animé , les équipements de l’appartement sont bien mais une couette ou du chauffage auraient étés les bienvenus lors d’un séjour pluvieux et frais. Mais nous pourrions y revenir.

  Good location, nice neighborhood, and the safety measures of the building complex added to our comfort. It was a decent apartman for two people.
  
  What could be improved: When we got there, the outer gate had a problem with the provided door unlocking combination, and we could only get in thanks to the help of other guests 😅
  The accomodation does not have AC and there is only one mosquito net on one of the bedroom windows, so we could not ventilate at night, it was way too hot in the summer.

  Neighboarhood is nice and safe.
  
  What could be improved: Guests have to fill inn all the personal information by themselvs in the app, it's not convenient.
  Quite confusing rules to get to the building.
  The flat is on the first floor before the lift, it means you 'll hear everyone coming in and out and talking.
  There' s a water pipe going on the outer wall of the flat and it Is really loud! Every time when someone turns on the water it's heard pretty well and after that comes the sound as if there is a waterfall just on your wall.
  It's impossible to sleep.
  
  And the food trash from previous guests was still in the room, they forgot to throw it.
  I don't recommend this accomodation.

  Localization is good, near metro station and trams and about 1 hour of walking from Milano Centrale. Room and bathroom clean, the kitchen had everything we needed.
