This four-star apartment sits in the Sempione district, and there’s something genuinely charming about how it feels more like staying at a creative friend’s place than a typical hotel.

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re close enough to Milan‘s center that you can easily walk to Parco Sempione and the Castello Sforzesco, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. The neighborhood has this authentic Milanese vibe with local cafes and shops that actually serve residents, not just visitors. I mean, there’s a fantastic pasticceria just two blocks away that I stumbled upon during my morning walks.

The Space Itself

The room really does feel artistic without being pretentious about it. There are thoughtful touches everywhere — original artwork on the walls, interesting lighting fixtures, and furniture that looks like it was chosen by someone who actually cares about design. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped too, which came in handy when I wanted to grab fresh ingredients from the local market and make a simple dinner.

Local Life and Logistics

What surprised me most was how easily I settled into the rhythm of the neighborhood. There’s decent public transport nearby — the metro isn’t right at your doorstep, but it’s a short walk and honestly, I ended up walking more than I expected because the streets are pleasant and safe. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but that’s Milan for you, and the host provides good guidance on where to find spots.

  Both Orlando and Irena were the perfect hosts. The apartment was clean and in a good location with plenty of restaurants, small supermarkets and easy access to tram links. Everything we needed for our three night stay was supplied.
