TICINESE 59 APARTMENT Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to TICINESE 59 APARTMENT on Corso di Porta Ticinese, you’d honestly miss it if you weren’t looking — and that’s actually part of its charm. This apartment-style accommodation sits right in the thick of one of Milan‘s most vibrant neighborhoods, where old-school trattorias bump up against trendy aperitivo spots. The building itself has that understated Milanese elegance that locals do so well, nothing flashy but you can tell it’s been thoughtfully maintained.
The Neighborhood Edge
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally steps from the Navigli canal district, which means you’ve got some of the city’s best nightlife right at your doorstep. During the day, the street buzzes with locals heading to the nearby Bocconi University area, and by evening it transforms into this amazing mix of students, young professionals, and tourists discovering Milan beyond the Duomo crowds. The four-star rating makes perfect sense when you factor in this location — it’s like having a local friend who knows exactly where to put you.
Living Like a Local
The apartment setup is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. You get a proper kitchenette that’s actually functional (I’ve seen plenty that are just for show), which means you can grab fresh ingredients from the morning market near Porta Genova and cook like you live here. The space feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in tourist accommodation. Each room has been designed with that Milan minimalist aesthetic — clean lines, good lighting, and windows that actually open so you can hear the city waking up.
Getting Around
What struck me most was how connected you feel to the real Milan from here. The Porta Genova station is basically around the corner, so you can hop on the metro and be at the Duomo in maybe ten minutes, but honestly, I found myself walking everywhere. The Sant’Ambrogio basilica is a pleasant fifteen-minute stroll, and if you head the other way toward the canals, you’ll stumble across these little galleries and vintage shops that most tourists never find. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though I’d question why you’d want a car in this neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.4 rating tells the real story — this isn’t about fancy amenities or a flashy lobby. It’s about waking up in an actual Milan neighborhood where you can grab your morning espresso from the same bar the locals use, then spend your evening discovering why the Navigli area has become such a draw for young Milanese. The apartment gives you space to spread out and actually live a bit, rather than just crash between sightseeing sessions. You know what really sold me? The fact that my Milanese friends nodded approvingly when I told them where I was staying — that’s when you know you’ve found something good.
Apartments in Milan suit families with balcony windows, full kitchens, and sunset strolls through Sempione Park gardens.

Reviews of TICINESE 59 APARTMENT
Location is brilliant – with a few minor changes the property could move from – Alan from United Kingdom – 16 November 2025 (8/10)
The location was amazing and somehow it was quiet despite being right on a busy street.
What could be improved: The beds were uncomfortable and the shower is really cramped if you’re over average height – I know it’s an older property and you’re limited in what you can change but between the bed and the shower I came home with a sore backCentral, comfortable, good transport right on the doorstep. – Sara from United Kingdom – 16 October 2025 (8/10)
Tram stop outside to Duomo, metro short walk and bars/ restaurants close by
What could be improved: Not a dislike, but there are stairs up to the apartment- but we knew that when booking. If you have mobility problems, this probably will not be suitable as this is an old building.Superb – Linda from South Africa – 6 October 2025 (9/10)
Central location. Close to main attractions. Hosts very helpful.
Perfect place for an on the run stay in Milan. – Denise from United States – 4 October 2025 (9/10)
Location was amazing, we weren’t at the apartment much, so it was great. Loved that there was coffee provided. Owner was wonderful and organized!
What could be improved: Beds need to be upgraded, they affected our quality of sleep. There are cushions under one of the single mattresses that move around when you flip over.Excellent place- I would really recommend and certainly return here if I was to visit Milan again. – Josef from Singapore – 25 September 2025 (9/10)
The location was superb. All contact with the host was clear and simple. The apartment was clean and spacious We really enjoyed out stay here. Close to Metro and shopping. Duomo at walking distance
What could be improved: Shower wasn't great but this was all. Warm water though, just not a lot of space to shower in.
Recommend not bringing your car – there is no place to park outside and drop off is only possible with taxi- or you can take the Metro, the stop is only round the corner. (2 mins walk).Excellent location. Close to Duomo, tram, and train central. Restaurants are few steps away from the – Kit from Canada – 23 September 2025 (9/10)
Very good location. The tram is just outside the apartment, 10 min walk from Milan Duomo.
What could be improved: The only thing we did not like is the shower tub. The way the tub and wall configured makes moving difficult. I hit my head on the wall while in the tub.Very good – Rebecca from United States – 10 September 2025 (8/10)
Location, location, location.
Nice bedrooms, good air conditioning.
Great breakfast place right down stairs.
Owners left lots of good information about the place and the location.
What could be improved: We loved this place AND the location is terrific. I did not rate it a 5 for a couple reasons:
1. It is on the 4th floor and no elevator. We had large suitcases and are in our 70s.
2. The bathtub/shower is VERY small due to the wall being slanted inward.
3. Front door key was very hard to open and required quite a bit of jiggling.Great stay in the heart of Milan! – Aakash from India – 22 July 2025 (9/10)
Great location and the host was fantastic. Easy check in and check out process. Well maintained apartment! Definitely a worthwhile spot to unwind from walking the beautiful city. Would stay here again!
What could be improved: Parking situation is tricky. I needed to park on the street a short walk away from the apartment. Was difficult to find a parking place "near" to the apartment.Location was great and the staff, Chiara, was wonderful! – Attila from United States – 21 June 2025 (9/10)
Location and staff
A Character apartment in a very central location – Warner from Australia – 19 May 2025 (9/10)
Character apartment very central location. Transport and eateries in front
What could be improved: Just be aware 6 flights stairs if you have heavy luggage.
