UNA Hotels Mediterraneo Milano Overview
First Impressions
UNA Hotels Mediterraneo Milano sits in the Porta Romana district — honestly, one of those Milan neighborhoods that feels authentically Italian rather than touristy. The moment you walk into this four-star hotel, there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it. It’s polished without trying too hard, you know? The lobby has this clean, contemporary feel that doesn’t scream “design hotel” but still makes you feel like you’re somewhere thoughtful.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I actually love about staying in Porta Romana — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of the city center. The Porta Romana metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk, and from there you can reach the Duomo in about 10 minutes. What’s even better is that this area has some fantastic local spots for aperitivo that most tourists never discover. The tree-lined Via Muratori itself feels more residential, which means you get a real sense of how Milanese people actually live.
The Room Experience
The rooms are well, exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star property — clean lines, comfortable beds, and everything works properly. I mean, that might sound basic, but you’d be surprised how many hotels mess up the fundamentals. Each room has good-sized windows that actually open (rare in Milan), and the air conditioning is quiet enough that you can sleep with it on. The bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure, though they’re not huge — typical for European city hotels.
Food & Dining
The hotel restaurant serves solid Italian fare, but honestly, I’d skip it for dinner and explore the neighborhood instead. Breakfast, though — that’s worth sticking around for. They do a proper Italian spread with excellent coffee (this is Milan, after all), fresh pastries, and enough variety to fuel whatever you’ve got planned. There’s also a bar area that’s actually pretty pleasant for an evening drink if you don’t feel like venturing out.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to UNA Hotels Mediterraneo Milano is that it delivers exactly what it promises without any surprises — good or bad. The staff knows their stuff about the city and can point you toward things that aren’t in every guidebook. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that feels connected to actual Milan life rather than being trapped in a tourist bubble. The parking situation is manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Milan will tell you is no small feat.
Early hotels booking in Milan secures opera tickets, rooftop bar nights, and private Italian cooking class sessions.

Definitely a great place to stay in Milan – Abigail from United States – 24 November 2025 (8/10)
Room was good size and comfortable. Location was close to restaurants and transportation.
What could be improved: Didn’t love the lobby space for waiting or having a drink in eveningReally enjoyed it–all there is to see; metro connections and the hotel! – Marilyn from United States – 17 November 2025 (9/10)
breakfast was great as was the dining option for supper; very nice room – we should have gotten a larger room for being there multiple days…but we did get what we asked for. service in all aspects – dining, front desk, cleaning – was excellent.
What could be improved: paying for water…. weird.Superb – Trevor from United Kingdom – 23 September 2025 (9/10)
Very spacious room, enormous bed, very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Location was good for bars and restaurants, close to Porta Romana metro and so other areas of Milan within easy reach.

They were able to give us a room quite ahead regular check-in time.
Room size was okay for a short stay.
Nice choice for breakfast.
The breakfast staff was lovely.
What could be improved: Sound proof (from outside noises) was a disaster. The fixtures really need to be changed.
Pillows were average quality.
The glass panel in the shower was ridiculously small. We were flooding the bathroom with every shower 🙁Very good – Krasimir from Bulgaria – 24 May 2025 (8/10)
Good location and amazing service! The staff is simply exceptional. Room cleaning was on another level!
What could be improved: A bit aging, I expected more from an UNA hotel. The rooms are tiny and the whole place has this "needs a refresh" vibe.Great stay in Milano – Cristina_s from Romania – 24 April 2025 (9/10)
So many breakfast options. Room is big and clean. City view was nice. We walked to the city central area. Communication was great, we even extended our checkout for 1h
What could be improved: Shower area was a little messy. Bed was not so comfortable for our back (maybe too soft, not sure)Location was important for us which was the main plus of the hotel. – Vahe from Turkey – 21 April 2025 (8/10)
Location. Close to Metro and bus. Close to lots of restaurants. Clean.
