The Neighborhood Feel

Sempione is one of those Milan neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the Porta Garibaldi area, but the vibe here is completely different — quieter streets, actual residential life happening around you. There’s a decent pizzeria two blocks down that I stumbled upon during my stay, and you know what? The hotel staff knew about it too, which tells you they’re actually paying attention to their surroundings.

Room Reality Check

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully laid out — no wasted space, everything where it should be. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a property in this price range, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (something you can’t take for granted in older Milan buildings). What impressed me was the attention to details like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets near the bed.

Getting Around

Here’s where WHITE RIBBON really works well — the public transport connections are solid without being in the chaos of central Milan. The closest metro stop gets you downtown in about twenty minutes, but you’re also close enough to walk to some interesting areas when you feel like it. Parking is available nearby, though like anywhere in Milan, you’ll pay for it. The hotel can point you toward the best options, which saves the usual driving-in-circles routine.

Why Guests Love It

This place succeeds because it knows exactly what it is — a reliable, well-run apartment-style hotel that gives you a real sense of living in Milan rather than just visiting it. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you consider that guests aren’t expecting marble lobbies or concierge services, but they are getting clean rooms, helpful staff, and a location that feels authentic. I mean, you’re staying where actual Milanese people live and work, not in the tourist bubble around the Duomo.

  What could be improved: The shower wasn’t work for 2 people. My stayed was 4 days. I took a cold shower for 2 days. The another days my daughter took a shower very very fast to let warm water for me.

  What could be improved: Difficulty in receiving the code,difficult to find the place at midnight, there was no light near the front door,kind of scaring situation for woman solo traveler,luckily the cab waited until I was able to enter the code and open the door.Next morning I was obligated to be at the reception,in another building between 9:30 and10:30 am and nobody was there,until a cleaning guy found a way to call the receptionist.

  Really clean and lovely spacious rooms with WiFi and really good bathrooms with lovely rain showers. Really good location to lots of shops and not far from the centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly and check in was easy. Would definitely stay here again.

  Location is very convenient. The facilities are modern and user-friendly. The staff were very helpful and responsive to support us storing our luggage before check-in time, and received us in 10 minutes as we were late to check in the evening.

  It was clean, the neighbourhood was safe, the metro station was very close and we were able to reach Duomo and Milano Centrale very fast. It was clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming and they cleaned each day during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: It was a problem with the towels in our first day, the towels were dirty, but we got help right away from the staff and they change it.
