Al 20 Guest House Fiera Milano – Certosa – San Siro Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Al 20 Guest House Fiera Milano – Certosa – San Siro, you’ll find it tucked away on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the typical tourist chaos. The building itself has that understated Milan elegance — nothing flashy, but you can tell someone cares about the details. It’s the kind of place where the entrance actually looks inviting rather than like a corporate lobby.
The Neighborhood
Honestly, Certosa isn’t where most tourists end up, and that’s exactly what makes it interesting. You’re in a real Milanese neighborhood where locals grab their morning coffee and kids walk to school. The metro station is just a few minutes away, which means you can be at the Duomo in about twenty minutes — but you’ll actually want to explore this area first. There are some genuinely good trattorias nearby that don’t have English menus, if you know what I mean.
Your Room
The room I stayed in was larger than I expected for a four-star place in Milan — you can actually open your suitcase without playing furniture Tetris. The design walks that fine line between modern and cozy, with decent lighting for getting ready and a proper desk if you need to work. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night; being on Via Tibullo means you’re not dealing with traffic noise all evening.
Practical Perks
The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find a good bakery or which bus gets you to San Siro stadium without the hassle. There’s parking available, which anyone who’s driven in Milan will tell you is worth its weight in gold. They’re also pretty flexible with check-in times, which saved me when my flight was delayed.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s that sweet spot between being professional and feeling personal. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you realize they’ve figured out the balance — you get reliable service and clean, comfortable accommodations without paying for amenities you’ll never use. Plus, you’re staying somewhere that gives you a real sense of Milan beyond the cathedral and shopping districts. It’s perfect for travelers who want to experience the city like locals do, but still have a proper place to retreat to at the end of the day.

The staff were very communicative before the stay and friendly. We stayed for one night and it suited our needs. Ecelectic style furnishing and decor. Was happy not to be in the middle of the city in Milan. Buses and tram was very closeby with supermarket a short walk away. Some snacks and coffee/tea available as complimentary with the room.

Really great host, friendly and helpful. Small items in the room to help with the stay were greatly appreciated. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the nearest bus stop that can take you to the metro. The place is in walking distance to Portello as well as a few small shops if you want to buy an ATM card for 24 hours access to the M1-M3, bus and trams.
