Alessia’s Flat – Politecnico Bovisa Overview
First Impressions
Alessia’s Flat – Politecnico Bovisa sits right in the heart of Milan’s Bovisa district, and honestly, it’s one of those places that grows on you. The building itself is pretty typical for this area — nothing fancy, but clean and well-maintained. You’ll find it on Via Francesco Paolo Michetti, which is actually quieter than you’d expect for being so close to the university and metro station.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Bovisa — it’s not your typical touristy Milan neighborhood, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Politecnico di Milano campus, which means the area has that authentic student energy without being chaotic. The Bovisa metro station is right there, so getting to the city center takes about 20 minutes on the red line. I actually prefer staying in neighborhoods like this because you get a real feel for how locals live.
The Apartment Experience
This three-star spot operates more like a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel, which I mean in the best way possible. The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for Milan standards — you know how cramped things can get in the city. There’s a functional kitchenette that’s perfect if you want to grab groceries from the local market and cook something simple. The WiFi actually works well (crucial if you’re working remotely), and the air conditioning kept things comfortable during those sweltering summer days.
Practical Stuff That Matters
One thing I really appreciated was the parking situation — not something you take for granted in Milan. While street parking can be a bit of a puzzle, there are options nearby if you’re driving. The building has decent security, and Alessia (or her team) responds pretty quickly to messages. You won’t find a fancy restaurant or room service here, but there’s a solid trattoria around the corner that locals actually frequent.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Look, this isn’t a place that’ll wow you with marble bathrooms or designer furniture — it’s a solid, no-nonsense base for exploring Milan. The 7.3 rating makes sense because it delivers on what it promises without any pretense. Students love it for obvious reasons, but I’ve also seen business travelers who prefer the authentic neighborhood vibe over sterile hotel chains. If you’re the type who enjoys morning espresso at a neighborhood bar and wants easy access to both the university area and central Milan, this place hits the sweet spot.
