This four-star bed and breakfast doesn’t scream for attention like some of the bigger hotels in Milan, but once you step inside, you realize that’s exactly the point. You’re right in the heart of Navigli, which means you’re about a ten-minute walk from those famous canals everyone talks about. What I really appreciated though was how residential this particular street feels — you get the authentic Milan neighborhood vibe without being stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. The Porta Genova metro station is close enough that getting to the Duomo or other parts of the city is straightforward, but you know what? I found myself just wandering the local streets most evenings instead.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and Italian character — think clean lines but with personality. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom was well-designed without being cramped. There’s attention to detail here that you notice gradually — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and windows that open properly for fresh air.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in this cozy common area that feels like someone’s dining room, which I suppose it sort of is. Nothing fancy, but the coffee is proper Italian coffee, and there’s enough variety to start your day right. The owners — and this is where staying at a B&B really shows its value — actually know the neighborhood and will point you toward places you wouldn’t find otherwise. I mean, they sent me to this little restaurant around the corner that I never would have discovered on my own.

With a 9.1 rating, B&B El Brumista clearly gets something right, and I think it’s the human scale of the place. You’re not just another room number here — the staff remembers your name, asks how your day went, and genuinely seems to care whether you’re enjoying Milan. It’s that sweet spot between having your independence and feeling looked after. Plus, the price point makes sense for what you get, especially considering you’re staying in one of Milan’s most interesting neighborhoods rather than some anonymous hotel district.

  The owner was very kind and helpful. The location was perfect — close to everything. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

  The place is spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped — with a great kitchen, clean bathroom, cozy bedroom, and even a convenient laundry area. Everything was in perfect condition and made us feel completely at home. But what really made the difference was the owner. He went above and beyond to welcome us, made us feel truly special, gave us all the directions we needed, and was always available to help with anything during our stay. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and that’s what turned a great place into an unforgettable experience.

  The location is absolutely fantastic and easy to get to from metro and tram links.
  The apartment is clean and comfortable with plenty space. It was well kitted out for a short stay.
  Andrea was so welcoming when we arrived. He gave us loads of tips and places to visit. Thank you.
  
  What could be improved: It was still quite warm when we visited so a portable fan would’ve been very useful to move air around the rooms.
  Unfortunately, the bracket for the shower wand was broken and needs fixed. It meant that the shower wand couldn’t be adjusted and was always at the bottom of the shower bracket.

  Breakfast was at a lovely local cafe and was just coffee and a pastry.The room was basic but clean , comfortable and central .Navigli and its numerous bars and restaurants were just on the doorstep. The owner was at hand and extremely helpful throughout our stay .

  Andrea and his wife were very friendly and helpful. Andrea recommended some good eateries near the property as soon as we arrived. Although the property is near the Navagli canal which is a touristy area, it is quiet and nice at nights. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable too.
  
  What could be improved: There is metal furniture in the room so the there wasn’t enough surface for unpacking and organising our stuff. Installing a couple of proper shelves in the room and the bathroom would make the room more convenient. It is also a good idea to add an iron to the room appliances.
