Look, I’ll be honest — Bunk Bed – Room 4 isn’t trying to be something it’s not. When I first walked up to this place on Via Giuseppe Bruschetti, I knew exactly what I was getting into: a no-frills, budget-friendly spot that’s all about location and value. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of Milan, tucked into a residential street that feels authentically Italian rather than touristy.

The Neighborhood Reality

Here’s what I actually love about staying in Stazione Centrale — you’re literally steps from Milano Centrale station, which means you can hop on a train to anywhere in Europe without dealing with airport hassles. The area gets a bad rap from some guidebooks, but honestly, it’s just working-class Milan. There’s a great little restaurant called Osteria del Borgo about two blocks away that serves proper Milanese risotto, and the prices are what locals pay, not tourist prices.

The Room Experience

The room is exactly what you’d expect from a three-star bunk bed setup — clean, functional, and surprisingly well-organized. I mean, they’ve managed to fit everything you need into a compact space without it feeling cramped. The bunk beds are sturdy (I’m not a light sleeper, but my bunkmate’s movements didn’t wake me up), and there’s actually decent storage space for your stuff. The shared bathroom situation works fine if you’re not precious about having your own facilities.

Getting Around Milan

What really sold me on this place was how easy it made exploring Milan. You’re maybe a 15-minute metro ride from the Duomo, and the yellow line connects you straight to the fashion district if that’s your thing. I actually found myself coming back here between activities because it was so simple — none of that complicated navigation through winding streets that you get with some of the more “charming” neighborhoods.

The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you adjust your expectations properly. This isn’t about thread counts or fancy amenities — it’s about having a safe, clean place to crash while you spend your money on actual Milan experiences. The other guests I met were mostly young professionals and students, plus a few older travelers who clearly knew what they were doing. Everyone seemed to appreciate the straightforward approach: decent beds, reliable Wi-Fi, and a location that doesn’t eat up half your day in transit time. You know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Self check in went fast and smooth. The location is perfect near Milan Centrale Station there was plenty nice Pizzerias nearby. The owner is really kind and helpful, she answered our call and text messages right away. She assisted us patiently on how to access the room. Room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. TV was working well, there was free coffee and tea in the hall for a quick refreshment… bed size was perfect for me.. maybe a bit too little for bigger size person…

  The room was super clean, as was the bathroom!

  What could be improved: The room doesn't have aircon, which I knew about, but with the current temperatures in Milan it was hard to sleep because of the heat. There was a fan, but it didn't solve the problem.

  The bathroom was very spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped.
  The entire property was spotless clean. The location within the city is relatively central and was convenient for me to get to my destinations easily.
  The communication with the host was easy and efficient.
  
  What could be improved: The area where the building is located is a bit less desirable than expected. Not downright dangerous but did not very safe either.
  The nfc keycard lock was rather unpredictable, sometimes only opened after multiple tries.

  Helemaal goed. Een kleine kamer met een fijn bed en luxe badkamer, precies zoals op de foto. Locatie was ideaal dicht bij het station. Zou misschien wat gehorig kunnen zijn, maar ik heb geen last gehad van de andere gasten.
