This three-star property feels more like staying in a thoughtfully curated apartment than a standard hotel room — and I mean that in the best possible way.

The loft design is genuinely impressive, with that soppalco (mezzanine level) creating this cool split-level vibe that maximizes every inch of space. You’ve got exposed elements mixed with ethnic-inspired décor that actually works rather than feeling forced. The attention to detail in the furnishing shows someone really thought about how travelers would use the space. There’s a functional kitchenette area that’s perfect if you want to grab groceries from the local markets — which, trust me, you’ll want to do in this neighborhood.

Location & Neighborhood

Città Studi is one of those Milan neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss entirely. You’re genuinely in a residential area where people actually live and work, not just a tourist bubble. The M2 metro connection (hence the name) gets you into central Milan in about 15 minutes, but honestly, I found myself hanging around the neighborhood more than expected. There are some solid trattorias within walking distance, and the morning coffee scene here is authentic — you know, where locals grab their cappuccino standing at the bar.

Practical Considerations

The 7.9 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does, it does well. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, so if you’re driving, definitely coordinate with them ahead of time. The building is older, so don’t expect ultra-modern amenities, but everything works as it should. I actually appreciated the more residential feel — it’s quiet at night, which isn’t always a given in Milan.

  The location was very good. It was 5 minutes away from a metro station and around an hour walk from the city center. The bed and the sofa were very comfy which i very much liked and the internet connection was good as well.
  
  What could be improved: The pillows were dirty as well as the whole bedding and that is why i preferred to sleep on the couch. The stove was making some interesting noises while it was on. The privacy depended on some curtains which was not very pleasing for two girls alone. The hot water needed around 10 minutes to heat up and on top of that the shower head was clocked and a very little amount of water was running down. The sink in the bathroom was moving. The wardrobe was broken and the AC was not working as well. The towels were dirty.

  What could be improved: Sjov 1 1/2 plans lejlighed m. stor hems. Skulle dukke hovedet i sove-sektionen. Nabo til pizzeria. Støjede lidt når butikken lukkede, men søde folk og ok pizzaer:-). Badeværelse og lamper i lejligheden kunne trænge til en overhaling: Dårlige vandhaner og utæt bruser. Vask sad løst mod væg.

  Appartamento ampio ricavato da un garage piano terra indipendente. Vicino supermercato e metro.
  
  What could be improved: La camera da letto era su un soppalco si toccava il soffitto con la testa. La cucina era ben disposta ma poco pulita così come le pentole e le posate ho dovuto lavare tutto. La padella aveva residui di cibo bruciato degli ospiti precedenti. La lavatrice era davanti alla doccia difficile passare. L'unica scopa era senza manico.

  Esteticamente, struttura molto carina e in posizione comoda.
  
  What could be improved: Ci sono però troppi punti negativi. Innanzitutto appena entrati nella struttura, le luci non funzionavano. Abbiamo chiamato l’host, ma nessuno ci ha mai risposto o richiamato.
  Se non in bagno, non c’è una finestra, in quanto il locale nasce come box auto (il finestrone luminoso che si vede nelle foto è in realtà coperto da una saracinesca).
  Abbiamo soggiornato per 3 notti, ma ci è stato fornito un rotolo E MEZZO di carta igienica.
  Il bordo delle scale era pieno di polvere e con qualche capello appeso.
  In bagno c’è un solo gancio per l’asciugamano, pur volendoli appendere al termosifone, non era possibile data la presenza di polvere anche su quest’ultimo.
  Maniglia della porta del bagno “ballerina”.
  Sul soppalco, oltre al letto ci sono alcuni mobili, tra cui un armadio con i cassetti letteralmente SFONDATI. Esteticamente orribile.
  Buone potenzialità, ma davvero tante cose da migliorare.
