Gazzana Corner House Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Gazzana Corner House on Via Edmondo de Amicis, you immediately notice how it sits perfectly in one of Milan‘s most authentic neighborhoods. This four-star boutique property has that rare quality of feeling both polished and genuinely Milanese — no corporate hotel vibes here. The facade blends seamlessly with the historic buildings around it, but there’s something quietly sophisticated about the entrance that hints at what’s waiting inside.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is what first sold me on this place. You’re right in the city center, but on a street that actually feels lived-in rather than touristy. The Navigli district is just a short walk away — perfect for those evening aperitivo crawls that Milan does so well. I mean, you can walk to the Duomo in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by local cafés where you’ll hear more Italian than English. That’s the sweet spot you want in Milan.

The Room

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of contemporary design and Italian warmth. Clean lines, yes, but with touches like locally-sourced artwork and textiles that actually mean something. The bathroom was spotless — marble surfaces that felt substantial, not flashy. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting; they’ve figured out how to make the space feel cozy in the evening and bright during Milan’s sometimes gloomy afternoons.

Dining & Atmosphere

While there isn’t a full-scale restaurant on-site, the breakfast setup is thoughtfully done — quality Italian coffee (obviously), fresh pastries from a local bakery, and they actually know how to do eggs properly. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you might strike up a conversation with fellow travelers, but it never feels forced or overly social. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which you can sense immediately.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back is how the Gazzana Corner House manages to feel both effortlessly Milan and completely comfortable for visitors. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just works without any fuss. You’re staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their friends visiting from out of town — and in Milan, that’s honestly the highest compliment a hotel can get.

  • Awesome stay! – Yen from United States – 12 February 2025 (10/10)

The place is awesome and roomy. Nicely setup.
Metro was a two min walk!
    Would definitely stay there again.
The best of all was the excellent service the host offered to us. One of people in the group lost their purse and the host was so helpful in not just getting us to the right places but also reaching out to the local police station in our behalf!
    Thank you very much!

    What could be improved: None!

  • Exceptional – Mila from Bulgaria – 27 January 2025 (10/10)

The host was very kind and was answering at any time we had questions. The location is great, and the apartment is amazing. The whole space is so good used.

What could be improved: The noise is quite intrusive. Maybe new window frames will be a good idea.

  • Architect designed apartment- like being in a boutique hotel. – Rebecca from United States – 8 January 2025 (10/10)

This is such a beautiful property – designed by architects – and designed with every detail in mind. When you walk in the living room, everything is concealed behind very tall closets. It has the feeling of being in a boutique hotel. It's in a chic neighborhood and building about 25 minutes walk to downtown. The primary bedroom has a good amount of room and a very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. The second bedroom has solid custom-built bunkbeds with a high rail on the second level – and a stair-of sorts to access it. The hall bathroom has a nice shower.

The kitchen is beautiful, and the host leaves a full array of things for your stay. Including coffee machine and beautiful mugs and glasses. The interior decoration is so tastefully done. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

The host is very nice and responsive and has very detailed instructions as to how to enter and is flexible. (Which not airbnbs are. )

Milan is a gem. It is such a fun mix of history, high design and fashion, and food.

What could be improved: It was perfect.

  • Exceptional – Sanchez from United States – 30 December 2024 (10/10)

It was very spacious and had everything we needed to feel at home.

What could be improved: We had a bit of difficulty with the door lock, but it wasn’t anything major.

  • Everything you need in an apartment – Ibrahim from Turkey – 15 November 2024 (10/10)

Paolo’s place is super comfortable even for large families. Everything is very well thought, nothing is missing. Location is perfect, 15 mins walking distance to Duomo and 3 mins to Metro station. Will certainly be our choice again next time.
