When I first walked up to GlowHausMi on Via Messina, I’ll admit I was a bit confused — it’s tucked into the second floor of a classic Milanese building, and you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. But once you find the entrance, this four-star boutique spot really lives up to its name with this warm, ambient lighting that makes everything feel instantly cozy.

Location & Neighborhood

The Sempione district is honestly one of my favorite areas to stay in Milan. You’re a quick walk from Parco Sempione when you need some green space, and the Porta Garibaldi area with all its restaurants and nightlife is just around the corner. What I really love about this location is that it feels residential and authentic — you’ll see locals doing their shopping and walking their dogs, not just tourists with cameras.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect blend of modern design and Italian warmth that you don’t always find in boutique hotels. The space was smartly laid out — not huge, but every corner felt purposeful. The lighting (which seems to be their thing) really does create this nice glow throughout the space, and the bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well despite being excited about exploring the city.

Here’s what actually matters when you’re traveling: the WiFi works great, the shower has proper water pressure, and the staff genuinely seems to care about helping you navigate Milan. They gave me some restaurant recommendations that weren’t the typical tourist spots — one little trattoria nearby became my go-to for lunch. The building might seem quiet from the outside, but the soundproofing is solid, so you won’t hear much street noise.
