The kitchen area is compact but actually functional — I mean, you can make a proper coffee in the morning, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to ease into Italian time.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you about this area — you’re surrounded by design studios, cool furniture shops, and the kind of cafés where actual Milanese people hang out before work. Via Pompeo Litta puts you within walking distance of the Navigli district, but you’re far enough away that you won’t deal with the late-night crowds unless you want to. The Porta Genova metro station is maybe a seven-minute walk, which connects you to the Duomo area in about fifteen minutes.

What Makes It Work

The flat strikes this nice balance between being design-forward without feeling like a museum where you’re afraid to touch anything. There’s decent natural light throughout the day, and the neighborhood stays pretty quiet at night — well, quiet for Milan anyway. I found myself actually wanting to spend time in the space rather than just using it as a place to crash between sightseeing. The parking situation is typical Milan (meaning challenging), but honestly, you don’t need a car in this location.

  What could be improved: It was noisy sometimes, the neighbors aren’t very quiet. I suggest to put some hooks in the bathroom for the towels.

  Clean apartment. Comfortable bed with nice pillows. Laundry unit in the apartment was very helpful.
  
  Checking in to the apartment is little tricky. The key is kept at a secret location near the property. The host will send you detailed video for the whole process. Still like a treasure hunt. Rommi was superhelpful and answered my call and guided me even though it was little late in the night.
  
  What could be improved: More than the property, I think the feedback is for booking.com listing. Booking.com needs to have an option of step-free access in their filters. For instance, this property had a lift but this was only to a level and after that the apartment was one floor up through a staircase. So nothing wrong on the hosts part to list this building as having a lift but the guest has to still climb some stairs with heavy luggage.

  Washing machine was super handy, and a clothing horse to hang washing on. Air con worked well and access into the place was straightforward.
  
  What could be improved: Actually a decent distance from main attractions. Space felt very cramped as they moved the dining table away in the images, put the sofa bed there and put in a proper bed.

  The location is great. All major tourist attractions are within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood.

  The location is great and central and there were left over groceries from previous renters I guess, so I didn’t have to buy basic groceries like oil and salt and coffee machine with capsule’s were provided
