Guest House Minas Overview
First Impressions
Guest House Minas sits on a quiet residential street in the Porta Vittoria area, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s one of those unassuming places that doesn’t try to wow you from the outside — just a clean, straightforward entrance that hints at the no-nonsense approach inside. The reception area is small but welcoming, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which I found refreshing in a city like Milan.
The Neighborhood Reality
Here’s what I wish someone had told me about this area — it’s not the historic center, but that’s actually a good thing. You’re about a 15-minute metro ride from the Duomo, which means you get to stay somewhere that feels like real Milan without the tourist markup. There’s a proper Italian restaurant two blocks down that locals frequent (try the risotto), and a small grocery store right around the corner that’s open late. The Porta Vittoria metro station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and once you figure out the route, it becomes second nature.
What You’re Actually Getting
This is a solid three-star place that knows exactly what it is. My room was clean, compact, and had everything I needed — good WiFi, decent air conditioning, and a bathroom that actually had proper water pressure. The beds are comfortable enough, though if you’re over six feet tall, you might find them a bit short. What impressed me most was how quiet it stays at night, despite being in the city. The soundproofing works, and you won’t hear every conversation from the hallway.
Daily Practicalities
The breakfast situation is pretty straightforward — continental style with fresh pastries, decent coffee, and the usual suspects like cereal and fruit. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and saves you from hunting for coffee first thing in the morning. There’s no parking on-site, which you should know upfront if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t want a car in Milan anyway. The public transport connections from here are actually better than some of the pricier hotels I’ve stayed at in more central locations.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Guest House Minas work is that it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. You’re getting clean, comfortable accommodation with helpful staff who’ll give you real directions to places worth visiting. The value is genuinely good for Milan — I mean, you’re saving money that you can spend on better meals and maybe that extra museum visit. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, and don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything important. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need in a city that can be overwhelming if you’re not careful.

Reviews of Guest House Minas
Good – Ivana from Serbia – 24 November 2025 (7/10)
The room was nice and is very close to city center. It was clean and had everything you need for a short stay. The heating was good so the room was pretty warm.
What could be improved: The entrance to the building and your room is all digitalised so if your phone doesn't work and/or you don't have internet connection, you won't be able to get in or out of the building. There was small amount of shampoo /shower gel.Very good – Stina from United Kingdom – 21 October 2025 (8/10)
Easy to access
Clean
Good price
I was a bit concerned about the no key entrance but worked very smoothly and was easy
What could be improved: There was not coffee by the coffee machineit was very good – Miryam from Egypt – 21 September 2025 (9/10)
location very reachable to bus and tram station, very near to a huge super market , and my room was very clean and comfortable, easy access to the building door and apartment door. i will choose this stay again when i come back to Milan
Good – Manuel from Spain – 22 August 2025 (7/10)
The bed was really comfortable. The area is nice.
What could be improved: I am not a big fan of the online check-in and access to the structure. You should not depend on your phone battery and access to internet to get in your room. Also, the cleaning service could do a bit better. The first day I just got a single towel for everything (the second day they also put a second small towel) and I found food leftovers in the drawer of the table. This food was not removed in the second day even though there was a cleaning service that day (they should check better). Still, the bed was really comfortable and the neighbourhood was quiet so I could get a proper night sleep everyday.Easy check in, good location – Matilda from Finland – 2 June 2025 (7/10)
Good location, clean and check in was easy with the instructions given. Good value for money.
What could be improved: Morning of the check out, the cleaning staff was knocking on doors way before check out time waking us up. However this was only a minor thing, overall good value for money. It’s was quite good – Lorelyn from United Kingdom – 13 February 2025 (8/10)
Convenient – very close to transportation to everywhere.
Very clean.
What could be improved: The only thing I didn’t like is there is nobody to ask in the information.
And in the evening you can hear the noises from the other guests.Very good – Iuliia from Serbia – 19 January 2025 (8/10)
It was tidy and clean, perfect for 1 night stay
What could be improved: The process of checking in to the Guest House is not great. If you don't have Italian sim-card, then its impossible to go through street gates. Wi-Fi is available only at the entrance to the guest houseGood – Elīna from Latvia – 2 January 2025 (7/10)
Cleaning and change of the towels provided every day. There was a fridge in the room, a little table and chairs. There were extra blankets to cover with so it was okay to sleep even if it the room was cold. There was an option to boil the water.
What could be improved: It was quite cold, especially in the bathroom. The cold air coming from the windows even when they were closed. Property collected more in taxes than was provided on Booking when we booked the room.Nice place – Simon from Ireland – 12 November 2024 (8/10)
Location and price
What could be improved: You don't get a key. Entrance to building is entirely through an app. You'll.need to have roaming and a charged phone.Superb – Eddie from Netherlands – 3 November 2024 (9/10)
The location is perfect for a short stay, located on the second floor of an appartment building. Easy entry via the online app, which worked perfectly for us. Every day very good cleaning of our room was very nice.
