HomeMi Sant’Ambrogio Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to HomeMi Sant’Ambrogio Apartment on Via Terraggio, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a apartment rental in central Milan. The building itself is classic Milanese — you know, those beautiful old facades that hide surprisingly modern interiors. It’s tucked away on this quiet street, but once you realize you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Duomo, everything clicks into place.
The Space Itself
This three-star setup surprised me in the best way possible. The room feels way more spacious than typical Milan accommodations, and there’s actually enough storage space for more than just a weekend bag. What I really appreciated was the kitchen — it’s small but functional, which meant I could grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets instead of eating out for every meal. The WiFi worked perfectly, the air conditioning kept up with Milan’s summer heat, and honestly, the whole place felt more like staying at a friend’s apartment than a typical hotel.
Location Perks
Here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you — you’re positioned right between two of Milan’s most interesting neighborhoods. Head one direction and you’re in the tourist heart near La Scala and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Walk the other way, and you’ll find yourself in Brera with its art galleries and aperitivo spots that locals actually frequent. I mean, being able to walk to Sant’Ambrogio Basilica (hence the name, I assume) in about five minutes was pretty special too.
Practical Considerations
The building doesn’t have an elevator, so if you’re on the primo piano with heavy luggage, just be prepared for that climb. Parking isn’t included, but honestly, you won’t need a car here — the Cadorna metro station is close enough that you can reach pretty much anywhere in Milan without breaking a sweat. The neighborhood gets busy during the day with office workers and tourists, but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. There’s a great little grocery store around the corner, and I found myself stopping by the local café downstairs most mornings.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is that 8.5 rating you see online — it’s earned through small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The hosts are responsive without being intrusive, the space feels genuinely homey, and you’re positioned to experience Milan like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through. For the price point in this part of the city, it’s honestly hard to find something that gives you this much independence and local flavor combined.

Reviews of HomeMi Sant’Ambrogio Apartment
Superb – Valeriya from Latvia – 1 October 2025 (9/10)
Very convenient location. There is a café nearby where you can have breakfast. Quiet at night, as the windows face the courtyard. Very helpful apartment owners.
Sítio com uma ótima localização, metro, transportes diversos e supermercado perto. Melhorar a cama e as almofadas – Beatriz from Portugal – 8 August 2025 (8/10)
Localização e comodidades
What could be improved: Não ter microondas e o sofá não é super confortável. Precisa de mais almofadas ou trocar as que temRomantic and different – Lidiya from Bulgaria – 19 March 2025 (9/10)
The apartment is in the best location. We were there in cold weather so keeping it warm was a little bit of a challenge, as the air-conditioning was too noisy and the heating system works from time to time. The bed is actually a sofa, but is ok. The place is very romantic and has unique style and looks. It has everything for a short stay and gives a nice feeling of an out of the ordinary experience. In front of the place is the best café! I would love to come back!
Really uncomfortable bed. – Martin from Czech Republic – 17 February 2025 (4/10)
The location of this accommodation is excellent.
What could be improved: However, I would not book this property again. The sofa bed looks great in the photos, but I find the presentation somewhat misleading—it gives the impression that you have both a proper sofa and a bed, but in reality, converting it back and forth each day is highly impractical.
Most importantly, the bed was the least comfortable I have encountered in all my 200+ bookings. I experienced significant back pain despite being young and physically fit, which speaks to the poor quality of the mattress.
I would recommend choosing a different place for a more comfortable stay.Good – Sylvia from New Zealand – 24 January 2025 (7/10)
Location pretty central
What could be improved: Stairs to the unit, make it tricky with luggages. No elevator.Adequate. – Chris from Belgium – 5 December 2024 (8/10)
The location was excellent, a stone throw from all the sights of Milan, and the girls dealing with the appartment were friendly and efficient.
What could be improved: It could have been bigger. On the pictures it looks much bigger than it actually was, and the flowers were plastic/dead which didnt really help.Exceptional – Maitha from United Arab Emirates – 14 July 2024 (10/10)
Clean and they have everything
We had no complications and it was a very smooth stay. Would definitely come back! – Saftschuk from Germany – 17 May 2024 (9/10)
They had everything we could have wished for and the location was really good!
What could be improved: The pillows were a bit too soft for our liking, but this is just our personal preference.Amazing! – Shrila from Netherlands – 9 April 2024 (10/10)
The host was so accommodating despite our late arrival, waited for us and stayed in touch through text. The property’s location was close to the metro, a 15 minute walk to the centre and close to bars and restaurants. It was so clean and so convenient with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and other facilities!
Perfect accomodation in Milan, when you want to explore the city by walk. – Katerina from Czech Republic – 4 April 2024 (10/10)
