Hotel Auriga Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Auriga, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with that understated Italian elegance that’s hard to fake. The lobby isn’t trying too hard — it’s got this clean, professional vibe that makes you feel like you’re in good hands without being flashy about it. Honestly, after dealing with Milan’s bustling energy, stepping inside feels like taking a breath you didn’t know you needed.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying on Via Pirelli — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Centrale station, which is a game-changer if you’re juggling trains or need to catch that early flight from Malpensa. I mean, Milan can be exhausting to navigate, but from here you can actually walk to the Porta Garibaldi district pretty easily, and that whole area has some fantastic aperitivo spots that tourists usually miss. The restaurant scene around Isola is worth exploring, and you’re close enough to make it back without the metro stress.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was what you’d expect from a solid four-star place — well-designed, comfortable bed, and a bathroom that actually has decent water pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue). What I appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; even being near the station area, things stayed pretty quiet at night. The air conditioning works properly too, which is honestly a relief during those sweltering Milan summers.
Service & Amenities
The staff here actually knows what they’re doing — they’re helpful without hovering, and the front desk folks seem to genuinely know the neighborhood well. There’s secure parking available, which is pretty much essential if you’re driving in Milan (though honestly, I’d recommend against it). The breakfast setup is decent — nothing extraordinary, but it’ll get you going in the morning with proper Italian coffee and fresh pastries.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really works about Hotel Auriga? It doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, reliable choice that gets the fundamentals right — comfortable beds, good location, competent service, and fair pricing for what you get. If you’re the type who wants to spend your time exploring Milan rather than lounging in your hotel, this place gives you exactly what you need without the unnecessary frills or inflated rates you’ll find closer to the Duomo.

We needed a place close to Milano Centrale to make a morning flight. So this was a very convenient location. Metro was right there and easily took the subway to the Duomo area for lunch & sightseeing and then took another to Porto Genova for dinner on the canal.
