First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Midway on Via Giovanni Battista Sammartini, you immediately get why they chose the name — this place is literally in the middle of everything that matters in Milan. The building has that solid, no-nonsense Italian architecture that tells you it’s been here a while, and honestly, that’s reassuring when you’re dragging luggage through a new city. It’s a three-star hotel that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I actually appreciate.

Perfect Positioning

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re about a two-minute walk from Milano Centrale, which means you can literally roll out of bed and catch your train to Lake Como or wherever else you’re heading. The Stazione Centrale area gets a bad rap sometimes, but honestly, it’s become so much more vibrant in recent years. There are decent cafes and shops right around the corner, and you know what? The energy of people coming and going actually adds to the experience rather than detracting from it.

The Room Experience

My room was on the fourth floor, and while it wasn’t huge (this is Milan, after all), it had everything I needed after long days of walking around the city. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the bathroom was modern enough that I didn’t feel like I was stepping back in time. The air conditioning worked well too, which matters more than you’d think during those sticky summer months when Milan can feel almost tropical.

Practical Perks

The staff here actually knows their stuff — they gave me walking directions to the Duomo that avoided the most touristy streets, which saved me both time and sanity. There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but they pointed me toward this little trattoria about three blocks away where I had some of the best risotto of my trip. The WiFi worked consistently throughout the building, and the front desk was helpful with luggage storage when I needed to explore after checkout.

Look, Hotel Midway isn’t going to win any design awards, but it delivers exactly what most travelers need — a clean, comfortable base in an incredibly practical location. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense when you consider the value proposition. You’re paying for location and reliability, not marble bathrooms or rooftop bars. For anyone planning day trips from Milan or just needing easy access to transportation, this place honestly can’t be beat.

  The hotel in very good location. The airport bus transit station is just in front of hotel.
  There is few step walking distance to the central mobile station.
  From this station you just need 4 stop to reach dumo.
  3 stop to reach lv,Prada, channel flagship shop.
  This hotel is very good for person who want to travel to airport next day.
  
  For others country Chinese. If you miss chinese food. U can stay here.
  There have good Chinese restaurant just next door hotel.
