Plus, you’ve got the Sant’Ambrogio basilica practically around the corner, and honestly, it’s way more peaceful than the main cathedral area.

The metro connections are solid too — Porta Genova station gets you anywhere in the city, and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in Milan (though I wouldn’t recommend it). What really sold me on this area is how it feels like actual Milan — not the Instagram version, but the one where people live and work.

The Room Experience

My room was on the fourth floor, and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully arranged. The beds are genuinely comfortable — I mean, I’ve stayed in places with twice the star rating where I’ve slept worse. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and you know what? The water pressure is actually decent, which isn’t always a given in older Milan buildings.

The soundproofing works well considering you’re in the city center. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s the gentle hum of city life, not construction or late-night party chaos.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast situation is solid — not fancy, but fresh and filling with good Italian coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around for hours. There’s no on-site restaurant for dinner, but honestly, that’s not a problem when you’re surrounded by some of Milan’s best neighborhood trattorias. The staff actually knows the area and gives real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots.
