First Impressions

Housing32 Apartments sits on a quiet residential street in northern Milan, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy — it’s more like staying in a friend’s well-kept apartment building. The entrance is understated, which I actually appreciated after dealing with some of the more tourist-heavy areas in the city center.

The Space

Each unit comes with its own kitchenette, which turned out to be way more useful than I expected. I mean, Milan’s food scene is incredible, but sometimes you just want coffee at 6 AM without hunting down an open café. The room itself was clean and functional — not Instagram-worthy, but it had everything I needed including decent Wi-Fi and surprisingly good water pressure in the shower.

Location & Getting Around

Via Ponte Nuovo isn’t exactly in the Duomo district, but that’s actually a good thing. You’re in a real Milanese neighborhood where locals grab their morning cornetto and catch the metro. The Zara Lambrate station is about a 10-minute walk, which gets you to Centrale in roughly 15 minutes. From there, you can reach pretty much anywhere in the city without the headache of driving or expensive taxis.

What Works (And What Doesn’t)

The parking situation is decent if you’re driving — there’s street parking that’s not impossible to find, unlike some parts of Milan where you’ll circle for an hour. The staff speaks English well enough, though they’re not around 24/7, so don’t expect full concierge service. What I really liked was the quiet — you can actually sleep here without constant traffic noise or tourists chattering outside your window at midnight.

Look, Housing32 Apartments isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or rooftop pools. But it gives you a genuine slice of Milan life at a price that won’t destroy your travel budget. The kitchenette setup means you can stock up at the local markets, and the neighborhood feel means you’ll discover that little bakery or wine bar that locals actually frequent. It’s the kind of place that works if you want to experience Milan rather than just check it off a list.

  Apartment was huge.

  Apartment close to the city center and close to the bus and metro stations. The staff is very friendly.

  The receptionist was very nice. Good underground car park. The building doesn't look great from the outside, but it is very nice once you are inside. Very clean and comfortable appointment. Our stay was very short, but the apartment was great and would be nice for a longer stay, too. The beds were very comfortable with clean and nice bedsheets. It is easy to get to the centre, but the area looked a bit down.

  Good size for a family of 4 with a good size balcony. It had a washing machine and air con. It was accessible for buses and metro as well as for driving to the Lakes and other areas.

  The apartment is an excellent fit for people looking for budget options.
  It was located near various restaurants which were open up to 11:00 PM.
  The apartment also had access to bus stops which were connected to the Metro Station. As a result access to the city and Milan Central Railway Station was very easy.
