Viale Abruzzi runs through Porta Venezia, which I’d describe as Milan’s more relaxed neighborhood — you know, the kind of area where you’ll find great coffee bars that aren’t trying to impress anyone. The Porta Venezia metro station is maybe a seven-minute walk, so getting to the Duomo or shopping districts is actually pretty straightforward. What I really appreciated was having Corso Buenos Aires nearby for shopping, plus some excellent Vietnamese and Ethiopian restaurants that most tourists never discover.

The Living Space

Here’s where IMHOME – Abruzzi really delivers on its name. Each apartment comes with a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and microwave, but actual cooking space with everything you need. The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious, with this modern-meets-cozy vibe that felt more like a friend’s place than a hotel. I mean, there’s something really nice about being able to make your morning coffee exactly how you like it, or pick up fresh ingredients from the local market and actually cook something decent.

Practical Details

The staff here gets it — they understand that travelers need different things than your typical hotel guest. Need recommendations for where locals actually eat dinner? They’ll point you toward places in Isola or Navigli that aren’t tourist traps. Parking can be tricky in this part of Milan (as it is everywhere in the city), but they’ll help you figure out the best options nearby. The Wi-Fi works reliably, which matters when you’re trying to navigate a new city or get some work done.

  Location was a 15-20 walk to Milano Centrale. The sofa bed was comfortable. When the air conditioning was fixed it was comfortable to sleep
