Italianflat – Angolino dei Navigli Overview

First Impressions

Italianflat – Angolino dei Navigli sits right on Viale Papiniano, and honestly, the location tells you everything you need to know about this place. You’re literally steps away from the famous Navigli canals — I mean, you can practically hear the evening aperitivo crowds gathering from your window. It’s one of those three-star places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does pretty well.

The Navigli Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re in the heart of Milan’s coolest neighborhood without paying those crazy city center prices. The Navigli district is where locals actually hang out, especially in the evenings when the canal-side bars come alive. You can walk to Porta Genova station in about five minutes, which connects you to the rest of Milan effortlessly.

The Space

The apartment setup works really well if you’re staying more than a couple nights. You get a proper kitchenette (nothing fancy, but it has everything you need), and the room feels more like a small flat than a typical hotel space. The furniture is modern and functional — think IKEA meets Italian practicality. It’s clean, the Wi-Fi actually works, and there’s decent storage space for your stuff.

Local Life

What struck me most was how residential the area feels during the day. There’s a great little market nearby where you can grab fresh produce if you want to use that kitchenette, and plenty of cafes where you’ll hear more Italian than English — always a good sign. The evening transformation is something else though; suddenly everyone’s out for aperitivo and the whole street buzzes with energy.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, but it nails the basics at a fair price. You’re getting authentic Milan neighborhood vibes without the tourist trap feeling, plus the flexibility of apartment-style living. The 7.6 rating makes sense — it’s solid, reliable, and puts you exactly where you want to be in the Navigli. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge, but honestly, you won’t need them when everything you want is right outside your door.

Reviews of Italianflat – Angolino dei Navigli

  • Very good – Yuliia from Ukraine – 13 August 2025 (8/10)

Great location and host, enough space for two.

What could be improved: The light in the kitchen is too dim (there is only one that comes from the bathroom), impossible to cook anything. In the morning you can hear people and a busy street.

  • Superb – Ieva – 30 June 2025 (9/10)

    Very convenient place

    What could be improved: –

  • Good location – Martin from Czech Republic – 26 May 2025 (7/10)

Air condition. Good location near metro and Navigli canal.

What could be improved: Room in – 1 floor. Small windows. You can hear a lot of noise from hallway.

  • Quality apartment. – Peter from Hungary – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

We found everything that we needed. Quality bathroom and kitchen although we didn’t use it.

What could be improved: The walls are a bit thin, you can hear when somebody is before the door and even some noise from the other room, not terrible so not that big of a promlem.

  • Overall positive but wish I’d known about the construction and that the windows were bigger and gave me natural light . – Inderjeet from United Kingdom – 27 September 2024 (7/10)

    It was clean.

What could be improved: It’s lower ground floor and said it had large windows, it doesn’t. And the windows that are there you’d prefer to kept the curtains drawn due to passers by being able to look in.

Also currently there is massive construction going on next to it, so don’t expect easy going mornings. Also the location can be a bit tricky to figure out on first instance but once you’re familiar then it’s all good.

  • It was perfect for what we needed for a one night stay in navigli. – Heather from United States – 25 June 2024 (8/10)

We loved the location and cleanliness. There was items that we needed like wine glasses, cork screw, and iron. We liked that the location was tucked away and felt private. It was nice that the location was near the underground trams as well. Also, the AC was nice because it was humid out that night.

What could be improved: The lighting was poor and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. The iron was hard to plug-in and didn’t work very well.

  • Overall, I liked the apartment and its location. If the owners address these issues, I would stay there again on my next – Valeria from Israel – 17 May 2024 (7/10)

I stayed in Suite Darsena. The apartment is clean and located in a prime area, just a short walk from numerous restaurants and shops. It's the perfect spot for enjoying the city's vibrant atmosphere and convenience.

What could be improved: The sofa bed is very uncomfortable, and the pillows are so old they need to be replaced. One day it was cold and raining outside, but the apartment didn’t have any extra blankets. The original blanket was too thin (a summer blanket), so I had to use a big towel to stay warm. Additionally, the bathroom drain needs to be cleaned, as water was pooling in the shower.

  • Very good – Lilit from Armenia – 11 April 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: it was very noisy

  • Superb – Olha from Poland – 30 March 2024 (9/10)

    All perfect

  • Good – Solvita from Latvia – 14 July 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: The bed wasnt comfy
