The air conditioning was quiet and effective, which might sound trivial until you’re trying to sleep during a sticky Milan summer. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure and modern fixtures.

The staff speaks excellent English and actually seems to know the neighborhood well — they pointed me toward a fantastic little restaurant around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. WiFi is solid throughout the building, and there’s a small fitness area if you need to work off all that pasta and gelato.

Here’s the thing — this isn’t the kind of place that’ll wow you with marble lobbies or rooftop pools. What it does is give you a genuine Milan experience in a comfortable, well-run hotel. You’re close enough to walk to the Duomo when you want to play tourist, but far enough away that you can actually get a feel for how locals live. The Porta Romana area has become increasingly trendy, and staying here puts you right in the middle of that evolution. Plus, the metro connections are excellent, so getting around the city is actually pretty straightforward.

  Hotel is a little off the tourist trail but is easily accessible with a metro stop near by and the tram station very close to the hotel

The staff tried their best to keep the breakfast area ticking over but they just seemed to be a little overwhelmed

  The location is perfect, near the tram line so it's convenient to commute around the city. The hotel facilities are nice, new and clean. Staffs are friendly as well.
