Here’s what I really appreciate about this location — you’re in the Bicocca-Zara district, which means you get that authentic Milan neighborhood feel without the tourist crowds. The area has this great mix of locals going about their daily business and enough cafés and shops to keep things interesting. You know what’s brilliant? The metro connections from here are actually fantastic, so you can be in the city center in about 20 minutes, but you’re paying way less than you would for something right in the Duomo area. Recent guests have been rating the location an 8.3, and honestly, I get why — it’s that sweet spot between accessible and authentic.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this lovely residential feel that you don’t get in bigger chain hotels. Everything felt thoughtfully chosen rather than mass-produced — the furniture, the lighting, even the way the space was laid out. It’s not huge (this is Milan, after all), but it’s efficiently designed and surprisingly comfortable. The windows face onto Viale Zara, so there’s a bit of street noise, but nothing that kept me awake. Actually, I found it kind of nice hearing the neighborhood come to life in the morning.

Practical Considerations

Being on the first floor means no elevator struggles with heavy luggage, which is a small blessing. The staff here really knows their stuff about getting around the city — they gave me some great tips about which metro lines to take and even recommended a fantastic local restaurant that I never would have found on my own. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but they’ll help you figure out the best options if you’re driving. The whole operation feels personal in a way that larger hotels just can’t match.

I think what really works about La Giannina is that it delivers on being genuinely local without sacrificing comfort. You’re staying in a real Milan neighborhood, getting solid four-star amenities, and paying reasonable rates for what you get.   I only liked the location it has some nice restaurants and groceries market store.
  
  What could be improved: the flat is too old the furniture are too old as well one bed was completely broken the other beds weren't comfy the mattresses too old the whole flat need renovation.

  there was no shampoo or body wash not enough toilet paper.
  the most annoying thing is that in the day we checked out the cleaning guys were knocking on the door at 10 am rushing us to get out of the flat we didn't have enough time to have a breakfast or to back our language or take shower the owner never told us we hav to check that early before hand usually check out is 12 pm not 10 am it was sick uncomfortable stay .

  Excellent location – just opposite the Tram and Bus station; and also, Super Market (Esselunga). The two Metro stations (on either side) only 200 metres away….close to Coffee/Pizza/Groceries/Bakeries/Mini-market shops/ATMS etc…safe area.
  The apartment has lift facility with big rooms and well-lit & ventilated, and great inhouse facilities like Wi-Fi, kitchen utensils, big living room and balconies.

  Location, balconies, space. Very authentic. The man who greeted us was very helpful and informative.
  
  What could be improved: Very tired. The kitchen is old with paper stuck to cupboard doors saying be careful doors loose. Plugs are not upgraded and multiple plugs into one plug. Got ripped off by agents about occupancy and local tax. Be careful with extra charges. Very disappointed. Worst booking.com experience in the 10+ years I've used booking.com ☹️ Milan is beautiful though

  Great spacious apartment with excellent location. The hoster responded quickly and stayed in touch. There was enough towels and beddings for 5, the kitchen was good equipped. The apartment is not modern, but very italian, with authentic furniture and decorations.
  The good pizzeria was just downstairs and the supermarket across the road.
  We really loved our time here!

  The location is great, close to metro and tram station, close to nice restorant and the city center.The apartment is big, the kitchen is well equipped.The bathroom is good and there is a hot water at any time. Marcello was very nice and helpful with everything we needed. The self check in was really easy.

  Clean and spacious room and apartment. The supermarket is just the opposite. The tram stop is downstairs to go city centre. 400m walk to Marche train station. The kitchen is quite equipped without condiments. Washer is available but no dryer. The apartment is on level 2 with an elevator. There is a restaurant downstairs of the apartment. The staff is friendly, helpful, and responsive.
  
  What could be improved: No dryer. Microwave is spoilt. It will be good to have rolls of kitchen towels. Trash needs to be clear downstairs before check out.
