LUMERA STAY – Solferino Overview
First Impressions
Walking into LUMERA STAY – Solferino, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with that classic Milanese elegance. The lobby has this calm, understated vibe that feels refreshing after navigating the bustling streets outside. It’s one of those places where you can tell they’ve put thought into every detail without being showy about it.
The Heart of Milan
Here’s the thing about the location — you’re literally steps away from some of Milan‘s most iconic spots, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist crowds right outside your door. The famous La Scala opera house is practically around the corner, and honestly, I love how you can wander through the Brera district’s art galleries and boutiques, then slip back to your quiet retreat. The Duomo is close enough for morning coffee runs, but far enough that you actually get some peace.
The Rooms
The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for Milan standards — you know how these historic city centers can be cramped. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary and cozy, with quality linens that actually make you want to sleep in. What I really appreciated was the thoughtful lighting setup; there are enough options that you can create the right mood whether you’re working on your laptop or winding down with a book.
Neighborhood Gems
This four-star property puts you right in the sweet spot for exploring Milan’s food scene. There’s this incredible local restaurant called Trattoria Milanese just a few blocks away where the locals actually eat — not just tourists. The morning markets in the area are perfect for grabbing fresh pastries, and you’re within walking distance of some seriously good aperitivo spots. I mean, when you can stumble home after drinks in Brera, that’s pretty ideal.
Why Guests Love It
What sets LUMERA STAY apart is how it feels like a well-kept secret in plain sight. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and can point you toward hidden gems that most visitors never discover. You get the comfort and reliability of a quality hotel, but with this authentic Milanese experience that’s hard to find in the more touristy areas. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Milan rather than just visiting it.

Perfect hotel/flat and superb location – Leticia from United Kingdom – 6 October 2025 (9/10)
Great stay! Location was amazing, perfect location, room size was very spacious. We will definitely come back again.
What could be improved: Only downside is that there was no lift and we had a buggy but if not coming with prams or wheelchairHidden gem in the heart of Milan – Charla from Italy – 6 October 2025 (10/10)
Location is great. A few stops from central station and walking distance to all major areas. Apt was spacious and nicely decorated. Perfect for work or leisure.
Pleasant stay with great staff which assisted us with our needs. Clean and comfortable – Fazrul from Malaysia – 2 October 2025 (10/10)
Very clean and strategic location.
What could be improved: Steps on the way at main entrance down can be a challenge if you have big luggagesNice place great location but no air conditioning! – Kirsten from United Kingdom – 21 September 2025 (7/10)
Clean, spacious, great location in the Brera district, 10 minute walk from Duomo and main shopping area
What could be improved: No safe (which wasn’t advertised) but something to consider for international travellers.
The property had air con but it was turned off by building management due Milan government rule. The room was incredibly warm and uncomfortable to sleep in at night. We were advised to leave the windows open for air which resulted in both my mum and I being bitten by mosquitoes. Very disappointing!I would love to come back! Such a gorgeous place. – Krissie from United Kingdom – 10 September 2025 (10/10)
I loved how modern and stylish it was. I also was really grateful for the complimentary water in the fridge after a day of travel!
What could be improved: I didn’t really like the check in procedure but that’s just because I arrived after 7pm. It would have been better if I arrived earlier as I’d have been able to walk through the gates.Great location for a short break in Milan – Sharon from United Kingdom – 1 September 2025 (8/10)
Clean and spacious room.
What could be improved: The entrance gates could be difficult to access so could be made easier. But it does make it very secure.Good location, nice and clean apartment – Catherine from Singapore – 18 August 2025 (7/10)
Room was as per photos, nice and clean apartment, has the basic necessities for a short stay. Room has aircon which is a huge plus especially during hot summer days
What could be improved: The room is a bit dark, and no privacy if opening all the curtains and blinds. No parking on site can be very tricky and costly to park in private parking area. We parked on the road and was not aware there’s a market on Wednesday so we will expect a fine due to this unfortunatelyFantastic location! – Christopher from United Kingdom – 24 July 2025 (10/10)
Lovely modern apartment. Large TV, great air conditioning and spacious bed with a sofa bed as well. The main highlight is location! Set in the beautiful Brera neighbour with a gorgeous setting.
What could be improved: Hard to find at first and not so clear about how to get in.Excellent stay & location – Luciana from Ireland – 18 July 2025 (10/10)
We really loved staying at Lumera during our trip in Milan. The charming area with a beautiful architecture. Spacious room and bathroom. Super clean, quite. Staff very friendly in the online communications. I would recommend to my friends and will choose it again.
