First Impressions

When I first walked up to Luxury apartment – Soperga 2, I’ll admit I was a bit curious about what to expect. The building sits right on Via Soperga, and honestly, the name caught my attention — it’s got this confident ring to it that made me wonder if it could live up to the billing. What struck me immediately was how residential the street feels, even though you’re essentially in the heart of Milan’s transport hub.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about staying in Stazione Centrale — you’re not exactly in the postcard-pretty part of Milan, but you know what? It actually works in your favor. I mean, you can literally roll out of bed and catch a train to anywhere in Italy, which is pretty fantastic if you’re doing a multi-city trip. The Centrale station is this massive, imposing building that’s worth seeing even if you’re not traveling, and from the apartment, it’s just a two-minute walk. Plus, getting to the Duomo or Navigli area is straightforward on the metro.

The Space

The room itself surprised me — it’s bigger than I expected for Milan, which anyone who’s apartment-hunted here will appreciate. There’s a proper kitchen setup that’s actually functional (I made coffee there every morning), and the layout feels thoughtful rather than cramped. The decor is modern without being sterile, though I wouldn’t call it particularly Italian in character. It’s more international-contemporary, if that makes sense.

Practical Matters

What I really appreciated was how well-equipped everything was. The Wi-Fi worked without drama, the air conditioning kept up with Milan’s summer heat, and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in the city. The building feels secure, and I never had issues with noise despite being so close to the station — the windows do their job well. For a three-star place, the attention to practical details impressed me more than flashy amenities would have.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the place you choose for Instagram photos or romantic ambiance. But if you want a comfortable base that actually makes exploring Milan easier, it delivers on that promise. I found myself using it exactly like a local apartment — grabbing groceries, cooking breakfast, then heading out for the day knowing I could easily get anywhere. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me because it’s the kind of place that quietly does its job well without any fuss or pretense.

  Spacious and Kind of near the station but there are nearer ones and safer nearer ones.
  
  What could be improved: 1. Mattress was broken/horrible, all the reviews said it I should have listened. The host was horrible about it and I had to sleep on the sofa (3 nights) so basically better off getting a studio
  2. Lounge is very depressing at night, poor lighting
  
  Things that dont matter but sure since they are horrible people:
  1. No coffee pods
  2. Kitchen non operational
  3. Fridge doesnt work proper
  4. Kitchen area no lights like zero at night
  5. Not good for accessibility steps
  6. Might get robbed opening the door the first time and later if you're too late
  7. Bad checkin and check out timings.
  8. No drinking water provided aswell

  I loved how close the apartment was to the train station, which made traveling to the rest of our destinations a breeze. The neighborhood also felt very authentic and like I could pretend I was a local for the day, further out of the way from the touristy center but still very easily accessible by walking 30 min or taking the Metro.
  
  What could be improved: My only complaint is that the bed was slightly springy, the mattress was not the most comfortable but I would still come back.

  What could be improved: We arrived at 5:30pm and the cleaning lady was still not done with the cleaning. We had to wait another 20-30min till we could enter, even though check-in hours are claimed to be from 3pm onwards. The whole apartment smelled weird, mattress is completely uncomfortable and worn out.

  What could be improved: Shame for the nice flat, bedding are cheap and uncomfortable, special sofa bed, pillow. They should be change as soon as possible.
  
  We were very upset because rule of owner/ staff. We checked in nearly 4pm. Tried to relaxing , settle kids , about 6pm had a guy made noise outside and rang bell twice. I texted on WhatsApp, the lady called me and said something, i opened the door and let him in. It waked up us, made us scared , twin 6 months cried. Its really unprofessional . Or is that the way they checked up people in the flat??? The guy brought 2 pants to kitchen and a silly thing to bedroom put it the wardrobe. I never stayed at any properties like that. Really really annoying.

  The apartment: Looks like the pictures, and is nicely renovated
  The location: in front of the central station, and near one if the main shopping streets.
  The bathroom: Clean and modern

  What could be improved: The only things I was missing, but I think it's because it's a new place:

  2. A duvet cover

  The apartment has a nice simple furniture and the windows grant silence from the cars outside. I've appreciated how clean it was. The apartment is really central and can be reached in many ways, buses from airports, subways, trams and city lines.
  
  What could be improved: The was a construction site in the building and I haven't been informed, the noice in the morning wasn't the best.
  I've asked for extra pillows but they were there. The safe with the keys was too high to reach for an average person.

  The apartment was in the perfect location for this visit. The host was very attentive and gave the best check-in/check-out that I have ever had. The apartment was clean! Good presentation for any guest upon arrival.
  
  What could be improved: I would have preferred gas burners for the stove.
