Via Tortona transforms during design week, but even on regular days, there’s something magnetic about this area. You’ve got the canals just a few minutes’ walk away, lined with aperitivo spots that locals actually frequent — not just tourist traps. The Porta Genova metro station is close enough that getting to the Duomo or shopping districts is effortless, but far enough that you escape the chaos when you want to unwind.

The Space Itself

What I really appreciated about my room was how they balanced modern comfort with character. The design feels intentional without being pretentious — think clean lines with warm touches that make you want to actually spend time there beyond just sleeping. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with good water pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Milan) and thoughtful amenities that show they care about details.

Dining and Social Spaces

The hotel’s restaurant serves this interesting fusion of Italian classics with contemporary twists, and the staff genuinely knows their stuff about wine pairings. I mean, you’re in Italy — the bar should be high, and it is. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you might find yourself chatting with other travelers or locals who stop by for drinks. There’s also secure parking available, which is actually a big deal in this part of the city if you’re driving.
