Viale Edoardo Jenner sits in this interesting pocket of Milan that most tourists never see — and honestly, that’s part of its appeal. You’re in a real residential area where locals grab their morning coffee and walk their dogs. The Isola district is just a short metro ride away, but here you get authentic Milan life without the tourist crowds. There’s a great little restaurant around the corner that serves incredible risotto, and the locals there were genuinely surprised to see travelers staying in their neighborhood.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in felt more like a compact studio apartment than a hotel room — which makes sense given the name “PrimoPiano” (first floor in Italian). The space is cleverly designed with a small kitchenette area that’s actually functional, not just for show. I mean, you can’t cook a full meal, but making coffee in the morning or storing some groceries? Totally doable. The decor is modern but not sterile — think clean lines with some personality thrown in.

Getting Around

Here’s what I wish someone had told me: the nearest metro stop is about a 10-minute walk, which isn’t bad, but Milan’s public transport shuts down earlier than you’d expect. That said, there’s decent parking if you’re driving, which is actually rare for Milan. The area connects well to both the city center and the business districts, so whether you’re here for work or sightseeing, it works. I found myself taking evening walks through the neighborhood just to soak up the local atmosphere.

Why It Actually Works

Look, PrimoPiano – Jenner B isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or a concierge desk. What it does offer is a genuine slice of Milanese life at a reasonable price point. The 8.3 rating makes sense — it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. You’ll sleep well, you’ll have your own space to decompress, and you’ll experience Milan like someone who actually lives here rather than just visits. For travelers who want something different from the usual hotel experience, this place hits the mark. Just don’t expect room service or a lobby bar — that’s not what this is about.

  What could be improved: There was no heating throughout the entire apartment. The curtains were permanently closed, so the whole place was dark, with only the bathroom being bright. As for the heating, we knew it was supposed to be on from an earlier scheduled time, but it never turned on.

  What could be improved: Terzo piano senza ascensore è una fatica non da poco se fatta più volte al giorno per una settimana. In cucina la lavastoviglie non funzionava e non c'era la macchina per il caffè. La televisione non prendeva inessuno dei canali Rai.

  Апартаменты были очень хорошие — чистые, уютные, с приятной атмосферой. Внутри есть всё необходимое для комфортного проживания. Местоположение отличное: буквально в двух шагах находится станция метро, благодаря чему можно без проблем добраться до любой точки города.
  
  What could be improved: Инструкции по заселению были почти идеальными — всё чётко и понятно, кроме одного важного момента. Мы прилетели ночью, около 2 часов, и не знали, что для входа сначала нужно открыть ворота, а затем дверь подъезда, позвонив по итальянскому номеру. Без активной итальянской SIM-карты или возможности совершать местные звонки это сделать невозможно. В итоге в 3 часа ночи нам пришлось просить прохожих на улице помочь дозвониться, чтобы попасть внутрь. Было бы очень полезно, если бы в инструкции отдельно указывалось, что для входа обязательно нужна возможность позвонить по телефону.

  What could be improved: Purtroppo, l'accoglienza non è stata all'altezza delle aspettative. Il check-in, previsto per le ore 15, è stato posticipato alle ore 19, creando notevoli disagi, soprattutto considerando che avevo appena affrontato un viaggio di 9 ore con i miei genitori. Ho dovuto contattare l assistenza booking affinché si potesse velocizzare il servizio di pulizia e permetterci di entrare. Inoltre, siamo stati informati di questo ritardo solo poco prima di arrivare a Milano. Il servizio di messaggistica non ha mostrato una reattività adeguata: ho segnalato la mancanza dei telecomandi dell'aria condizionata, ma sono stati forniti solo il giorno successivo. Infine, abbiamo richiesto di posticipare il nostro check-out di un'ora e mezza, e viste le circostanze iniziali, ci saremmo aspettati una maggiore disponibilità, che purtroppo non abbiamo ricevuto. Sono molto dispiaciuta per quanto accaduto.
