Location & Getting Around

The Porta Garibaldi area is where Milan gets interesting — you’re close enough to the business district that you’ll see suited locals grabbing morning coffee, but far enough from the tourist chaos around the Duomo. The Porta Garibaldi train station is about a 10-minute walk, which I found pretty handy for day trips. There’s also this little market on Saturdays just around the corner that most visitors never find.

The Suite Experience

The room I stayed in was more spacious than I expected — these are proper suites with separate sleeping and living areas. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Esselunga down the street. The bathroom’s modern with good water pressure, though the shower door has this annoying habit of not staying completely closed.

Daily Life Here

Breakfast happens in a small dining area that feels more like someone’s nice living room than a hotel restaurant. They do the typical Italian spread — decent coffee, pastries, some fruit — nothing fancy but fresh. The real winner is the neighborhood itself. Via Marghera connects you to areas most tourists skip, and there’s this excellent trattoria called Da Giacomo that’s maybe three blocks away where locals actually eat.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

Look, this isn’t the Four Seasons, but it doesn’t pretend to be. What you get is solid value in a part of Milan that feels authentic rather than touristy. The suites give you room to spread out after long days of walking around the city, and the parking situation (they have a small lot) is actually manageable — which anyone who’s driven in Milan will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The 8.5 rating makes sense; it’s the kind of place that does the basics really well without any drama.

  Bon emplacement dans un quartier commerçant mais au calme. Grande chambre bien équipée avec une bonne literie et une belle douche à l'italienne.

  Impossible de se garer dans le quartier. Le parking privé et gardé coûte 30 euros par 24h.
