First Impressions

Walking up to MeMo Home on Corso di Porta Romana, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. The building has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Milanese — not flashy, but you know there’s something special happening inside. Honestly, the location caught my attention first because you’re right in the thick of things without being on one of those tourist-packed streets where you can barely move.

Location & Neighborhood

This stretch of Corso di Porta Romana is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Milan rather than just visiting it. You’ve got the Navigli district within walking distance — those canal-side aperitivo spots are maybe ten minutes away on foot. The Porta Romana metro stop is right there, which means you can zip over to the Duomo in about fifteen minutes when you need your tourist fix. What I really love though is how you’re surrounded by actual neighborhood life — little cafes where locals grab their morning espresso, that sort of thing.

The Room Experience

The room design here feels thoughtfully modern without trying too hard. They’ve got this clean, minimalist aesthetic that actually works — I mean, sometimes “minimalist” just means “cheap,” but not here. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have this nice marble detail that adds a touch of sophistication. You know what impressed me most? The soundproofing is excellent, which matters when you’re on a busy Milan street.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast situation is solid — nothing groundbreaking, but fresh pastries, decent coffee, and they actually know how to do eggs properly. There’s a small restaurant area that works well for a quick bite, though honestly, with all the incredible food options in this neighborhood, you’ll probably want to venture out most evenings. The staff here really gets it — they’re helpful without hovering, and they seem to genuinely know the area well enough to give you proper recommendations.

  It looked airy and cosy. There was a Pam store on the ground floor so I got a few things and was able to cook. I also like its location. Overall , the apartment was comfortable and cosy. I felt very safe

  Appartamento molto confortevole e perfetto per una coppia, silenzioso nonostante sia in una posizione di traffico sostenuto. A due passi dalla Metro , vicino a ristoranti e bistrò di buon livello.
  
  What could be improved: Tutto perfetto… Un piccolo consiglio : il tubo della doccia andrebbe cambiato perchè perde acqua e… se ci fosse anche un forno micronde sarebbe perfettissimo !!!

  Perfect location.Literally door step from Duome Cathedral only 10 mins away. Loads of shops,restaurants..Apartment very clean and owner very easy to reach.Check in and out without hassle. We used car park by mistake in "Barbara" through the night stay with no problem for same price of 20 euro for night
