You’re in the Città Studi area, which locals know as the university district. It’s not touristy at all — actually, that’s kind of the point. You’ll find authentic trattorias where students hang out, and the metro station is close enough that getting to the Duomo takes maybe 20 minutes. The neighborhood feels genuinely Milanese, if that makes sense. There’s parking available too, which anyone who’s driven in Milan will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Accommodation Experience

This three-star place operates more like a collection of serviced apartments than a traditional hotel. Each apartment comes with its own kitchenette, which honestly saved me a fortune on meals. The spaces aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed — you know, everything has its place. The room I stayed in had this slightly vintage feel, with decent Wi-Fi and a surprisingly comfortable bed.

What Works (and What Doesn’t)

The kitchenette thing is genuinely useful — I grabbed groceries from the nearby Esselunga and made simple breakfasts. Staff is helpful when you need them, but they’re not hovering around like at bigger hotels. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me; it’s solid without being spectacular. Water pressure could be better, and don’t expect daily housekeeping unless you specifically arrange it.

Look, if you want marble lobbies and a concierge in white gloves, this isn’t your place. But if you’re after a genuine neighborhood experience in Milan — somewhere that feels like you’re actually living there for a few days rather than just passing through — Mi casa Cesalpino delivers exactly that. It’s the kind of spot where you start recognizing the barista at the corner café and feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist.

  Nice place, lots of room and storage space, good facilities, easy to find and near to the metro.
  Second duvet was provided which was good as it was fairly cold overnight. Bedroom is upstairs, bathroom is downstairs.
  
  What could be improved: We travelled from the UK and had to get a late flight due to work commitments, and so it was a little stressful to not receive any of the check in details until we were standing outside the front door. Communications were on the whole good but please explain to your guests when they will receive details of how to get into the place and pickup the key in advance. (Not necessarily the pin codes but just the principle or plan of what will happen – this has been explained to me in other places I have stayed and is very reassuring).
  Wi-fi was extremely poor in the flat and the TV was not connected to the wi-fi, I suspect for this reason. Fortunately 5g in the area is excellent.
  The flat has marble floor throughout the downstairs, I recommend taking slippers and turning on the heaters asap.
