The metro stop at Sant’Ambrogio is practically around the corner, so getting to Milan‘s fashion district or catching trains to other cities is actually pretty straightforward. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to decent restaurants without fighting through crowds of tourists taking selfies every ten meters.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — you know, the kind of space where everything has its place. The bed was comfortable enough, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (which, let’s be real, matters more than fancy toiletries). There’s air conditioning that works well, which during Milan’s sticky summers is basically essential. The windows open onto the street, so you get some nice natural light, though it can get a bit noisy in the mornings.

Neighborhood Charm

What really won me over was the surrounding area. There’s this little restaurant just two blocks away — I think it’s called Osteria del Borgo — where locals actually eat, not just tourists. The morning market near Porta Genova is a short walk if you want to grab fresh fruit or just watch Milan wake up. You’ll find yourself on streets where people are heading to work or walking their dogs, which sounds ordinary but feels refreshing when you’re used to staying in more touristy zones.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to blow your mind with amenities — there’s no spa or fancy lobby bar. But if you want a clean, well-located base for exploring Milan without paying premium prices, it delivers exactly what it promises. The staff speaks decent English and seems genuinely helpful with directions or restaurant recommendations. For the price point, you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel costs can get pretty steep, especially during fashion week or major events. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day easily, and don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything important.

  Ruim appartement en goed bed. Veel horeca en winkels dichtbij. Afstand naar Duomo 15 min lopen.
  
  What could be improved: Douchekop was stuk en warmwater voor 1 persoon. Rolluik voor raam was ook stuk. Druk tegenover school en ‘s avonds hangplek. Dat maakt het ook wel weer levendig

  Location is perfect.
  
  What could be improved: The neighborhood is very noisy, there is no adequate sound proofing. Also privacy in the bedroom is an issue, the curtains are sheer and the windows only close on the glass. There are also some missing basic things, bin in the bathroom, iron board and also too little towels for the whole stay when there is no place to dry them.

  Kullanım için kahve vb ürünler azdı. Check out öncesi kullandığımız çarşafları kendimiz yıkamamız istendi sebebini anlayamadık. Odada yeni mobilyalar kullanılmış temiz ve oldukça büyüktü. Konumu hem navigli hem duomo bölgesine yürüme mesafesinde.

• Toppen läge – ren lägenhet – Romina from Sweden – 2 March 2025 (7/10)

  Läget – du har tunnelbanans röda linjen runt hörnet (De Amicis) som tar dig till duomo och gröna linjen (San Ambrogio) som åker till centralen några minuter ifrån. Det ligger även nära navigli område ca 15 min promenad och du kan även promenera till Duomo och till andra områden. Du har också den kända bageriet cucchi runt hörnet för frukost. Boendet är rent. Duschen fungerade bra. Finns café maskin, mikro och spis om man vill laga mat. Boendet har också tvättmaskin.
  
  What could be improved: Sängen var obekväm, (hård) och kuddarna. Ingen extra filt. Locket på toaletten är fortfarande lös (trasig?) Lägenheten ligger på första våningen och man hör allt från gatan. Det samlas ungdomar utanför lägenheten för att festa och spela högt music. Milano har ett problem med festandet på gator i överlag och restauranger måste sluta servera dryck och mat kl 12 på vardagar och 01 på helger. Om du stänger sovrummet så hörs det inte så mycket men om du är känslig mot ljud är det bra att veta.

  Check in was easy. It was 26th Dec. so it was important to respect our hosts’ time and arrive on time as scheduled. We appreciated the flexibility to meet us in person for check in. We were contacted on WhatsApp to double check arrival time and had access to a dedicated chat line for any issues that may arise.
  The location is the best thing about this apartment: on Metro line 4 from Linate airport. The underground stop is about a 5 min walk away from the apartment – really convenient. 1km walk approx to Duomo along a main road with lots of trams passing, restaurants, coffee shops on the way. A first floor apartment, warm, comfortable, a little sparse though for now (new). Overall, I highly recommend. We’ll be back!
  
  What could be improved: There’s a steep step in the bathroom which could cause an accident. The welcome pack was a little basic. The carpet at the entrance to building lets it down.
