Milan Cortina Olympics 2026 – Simonetta Apartment Overview
First Impressions
The Milan Cortina Olympics 2026 – Simonetta Apartment sits right on Piazza Insubria in the Porta Vittoria district, and honestly, the location caught me off guard in the best way. This four-star place isn’t your typical hotel setup — it’s actually an apartment rental that feels like you’re staying at a well-connected friend’s place in Milan. The building has that solid, understated Italian charm without being flashy about it, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The neighborhood itself offers a perfect blend of authentic local character and convenient access to major attractions.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Porta Vittoria is one of those areas that locals know but tourists often miss, which works in your favor. You’re close enough to the action but far enough out to avoid the tourist crowds that swarm around the Duomo. The metro connections here are actually fantastic — I mean, you can get to the city center in about 15 minutes, but you’ll also find plenty of authentic trattorias and cafes right in the neighborhood. There’s something refreshing about grabbing your morning coffee alongside actual Milanese residents instead of fellow travelers. The district truly represents the real Milan experience.
The Space Itself
The room setup gives you proper breathing space, which you don’t always get in Milan’s city center hotels. What I appreciated most was having a functional kitchen — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual cooking facilities. The furnishings feel contemporary without trying too hard, and there’s enough storage space that you won’t be living out of your suitcase. The windows face the piazza, so you get a bit of that Italian street life happening below, though it’s not so busy that it keeps you awake. Natural light floods the space throughout the day.
What Makes It Work for Couples
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something intimate about having your own apartment space rather than just a hotel room. You can actually settle in for a few days, maybe cook a simple dinner with ingredients from the local market, and it feels more like experiencing Milan rather than just visiting it. The area has this romantic, slightly off-the-beaten-path vibe that’s perfect when you want to explore together without fighting crowds at every turn. It’s an ideal base for romantic getaways.
Why Guests Love It
The location really is the star here, and recent guests aren’t wrong about rating it highly. You’re positioned perfectly for both the upcoming Olympics buzz and everyday Milan exploration. Parking can be tricky in this part of the city, but the public transport links more than make up for it. What strikes me most is how this place manages to feel authentically Milanese while still being completely comfortable for international visitors — that balance isn’t always easy to find, but they’ve nailed it here. This apartment delivers genuine value and memorable experiences.

Reviews of Milan Cortina Olympics 2026 – Simonetta Apartment
Superb – Misic from Serbia – 27 September 2025 (9/10)
Good location, good accomondation, nice communication with host
What could be improved: no toiletriesSimple and clean, not perfect but does the trick. – Maddy from Australia – 14 September 2025 (6/10)
The owner was lovely – she came to the apartment twice, firstly as we were unable to get in (instructions stated to turn the handle to the right, it's actually to the left just FYI) and then again when we discovered we had no hot water. The studio is spacious, bed is comfortable, aircon functional, kitchen well equipped.
Only 15-20min walk to Porta Romano with lots of good cafes, restaurants and bars.
What could be improved: Be aware of the distance from the centre/train station is approx 1hr walk or 30mins by transport.
Balcony is a tiny square accessible through bathroom its not really usable but not much that can be done there.
Unlucky and not really to the fault of the owner but want to note that we had no hot water in the bathroom for our 2 night stay as hot water service was broken so we were unable to shower. The owner is aware and has organised for repairs/part replacement for next guests. She did offer for us to shower at another apartment 10 min walk away but we weren't overly comfortable with that so just made do for our short stay.Pleasant stay. The location is good. Close to the center – Mandawi from India – 3 May 2025 (7/10)
Everything is good.
What could be improved: Noise coming from the front park.Exceptional – Nikita from Russia – 19 November 2024 (10/10)
For the budget that was asked, this was excellent. The apartment was very clean, the location was great.
What could be improved: Nothing reallyGood – Diego from Argentina – 11 November 2023 (7/10)
What could be improved: In general, our stay was good, but I think the host’s assistance was rather poor.
We had to use a code-based system to access the building where our apartment was. The host didn’t provide us with the code to enter the building until a few minutes before we arrived, and only because we texted her through WhatsApp on our way to Milan. We arrived in Milan at 11.30 pm, which only made it worse.
On the first night, where was an explosion-like noise on the hall of our floor, followed by other noises of objects moving and people talking. This was at around 4.30 am.Good apartment, i recommend. – Konstantin from Azerbaijan – 24 October 2023 (7/10)
A relatively inexpensive (if you can say that about Milan) option. Quite convenient location, there is a bus stop nearby, and the tram is also close. The apartment has everything you need – washing machine, kitchen utensils. Overall the impression is positive. I can recommend this apartment, unless of course you are a count or marquis.
In order to get into the apartment, you must first download the application and upload a passport photo, i.e. you have to spend some time to understand how all this works, but then the door opens and closes by pressing a button on your smartphone.
What could be improved: the apartment is located in an ordinary residential building and finding the right door for the first time was not easy. There are no identifying marks on the door. In addition, we must not forget that floor 1 in Italy is actually 2, because the ground floor is number 0.
Besides, It's time to replace some of the kitchen utensils.Good – Susan from Netherlands – 10 September 2023 (7/10)
Nice appartment in a rural area of Milan. Little restaurants nearby as well as a few supermarkets. Easy to get to and from the centre by public transport. We slept with 3 adults, one on the sofabed. Airco in the bedroom was fantastic!
What could be improved: Our locked bike got stolen from the back of the car, so watch out what you leave on/in the car!Clean but could do with freshing up. – Noah from Malta – 22 July 2023 (7/10)
It was very clean and I loved the towels. Probably best I have ever had. Staff were friendly.
What could be improved: The bathroom definitely needed refreshing. Paint peeling on ceiling. Shower blocked easily and there was a plunger to un block it. Not very nice at all. Think that could be improved. Sound carried from upstairs a lot.So nice – Martina from Bulgaria – 18 July 2023 (8/10)
It was a good location with a lot of different public transport options that go to the centre, Duomo and etc. The apartment was cute, clean, had almost everything you would need.
Superb – Piotr from United Kingdom – 6 May 2023 (9/10)
What could be improved: I cannot find apartment door number on booking
Luckily we find it as a luck
