MilanHolidays Overview
First Impressions
MilanHolidays isn’t your typical Milan hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. Tucked away on Via Monte Cengio in the Isola district, this four-star property feels more like staying at a well-designed apartment building than a traditional hotel. The lobby’s modern but not flashy, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which you don’t always get in this city.
The Neighborhood Reality
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in Isola, which means you’re close enough to Porta Garibaldi station (about 8 minutes on foot) but far enough from the tourist chaos around the Duomo. The neighborhood has this authentic Milan vibe, with locals grabbing morning coffee at the corner bars and actual grocery stores instead of souvenir shops. You know what’s really handy? There’s a Carrefour Express literally two blocks away, perfect for grabbing snacks or whatever you forgot to pack.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was larger than I expected — Milan isn’t known for spacious accommodations, but MilanHolidays seems to get this right. Everything’s clean and functional, with decent Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in summer). The kitchenette is basic but useful if you want to make coffee or heat up leftovers from that amazing risotto place down the street. Windows are well-insulated too, so traffic noise isn’t really an issue.
Getting Around
Transportation-wise, you’re well-connected without being in the thick of everything. The Isola metro stop on the purple line is about a 10-minute walk, and from there you can reach Porta Garibaldi or Repubblica pretty quickly. I actually preferred walking to Porta Garibaldi station most days — it’s a pleasant stroll through residential streets, and you pass some great local spots. Parking can be tricky in this area if you’re driving, but the hotel can help arrange something nearby.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets MilanHolidays apart is how it balances being in Milan without drowning in tourist mayhem. The 8.3 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the basics really well. You get a proper night’s sleep, reasonable space, and you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Milanese people live and work. For the price point, especially compared to hotels closer to the center, it’s honestly a smart choice if you don’t mind a short metro ride to reach the main attractions.

Recommended for sure – Maryam from India – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
The host was helpful and friendly, even though we arrived late, he still helped us with the check in and was responsive to our needs although it was late at night.
Recommended if you need to accommodate near Linate airport or San donato Bus station
What could be improved: all heaters were controlled by the owner and I felt like uncomfortable to disturb the host middle of the nightGreat. – Susan from United States – 18 September 2024 (9/10)
Parking easily on the street. Close to Linate Airport.
What could be improved: Up one flight w/out elevator.Great apartment and comfortable – Atsuto from Italy – 23 August 2024 (8/10)
The apartment facilities are very clean and well organized, and comfortable to stay.
What could be improved: The location of the apartment is not close from the Milano central area, and the safe level of area where apartment located is not so high… (Just personal impression)Love this place – Hien from Switzerland – 15 April 2024 (9/10)
Good
Superb – Nacu from Romania – 3 November 2023 (9/10)
Andrea, the host, was very nice and friendly, very responsive, he recommended places to visit or restaurants in the area. The location is good, quiet neighbourhood, very close to the Metro station.
Very good – Renata from United States – 3 November 2023 (8/10)
Clean and good location
What could be improved: The bathroom is privity but outside the room, inside the kitchen.Superb – Zara from United Kingdom – 21 June 2023 (9/10)
Clean and inviting, the host was incredible and friendly. He sent the instructions on how to enter the building and the directions prior to our arrival which was really helpful. The room was relatively spacious and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked and it had all the facilities that we needed. It was only a short walk away from the metro as well. We would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: The only issue that we had was with the showerhead in the shower and that the water kept transitioning from hot to cold. We had the same issue with an accomodation in Catania, so not sure if it is just a standard issue in the country.Superb – Marina from Ukraine – 10 June 2023 (9/10)
Good apartment
Overall very comfortable and cozy with nice staff! – Makimoto from Japan – 13 February 2023 (9/10)
The host Andrea was very helpful with quick response. It was also very clean, with a tv screen with entertainment (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) and a vending machine. A lot of kitchen facilities as well, so I recommend not only for sightseeing visits, but for longer stays as well!
What could be improved: I felt the room wasn’t bright enough
