MokaMI- Cozy nest Via Anelli Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to MokaMI- Cozy nest Via Anelli for the first time, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — but the moment I stepped inside, it all made sense. This four-star boutique spot really does feel like someone’s incredibly stylish nest, tucked away on a quiet street that most tourists never discover. The entrance has this warm, residential vibe that immediately sets it apart from the typical hotel lobby experience. You know what I mean — it’s intimate without feeling cramped, polished but not intimidating.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Via Luigi Anelli — it’s one of those Milan addresses that locals appreciate but visitors often overlook. You’re genuinely in the city center, which means the Duomo is totally walkable (I did it in about fifteen minutes), but you’re not dealing with the constant tourist chaos of the main drags. The street itself is lined with those beautiful Milanese buildings that make you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through. There’s actually a lovely little café two doors down where I grabbed my morning espresso — the kind of place where the barista remembers your order after two visits.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what the “cozy nest” name promised — thoughtfully designed without being fussy about it. The space felt bigger than it probably was, thanks to clever use of mirrors and really good lighting (something so many hotels get wrong). I mean, the bed was genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the linens had that crisp quality that makes you want to dive right in. The bathroom was compact but well-planned, with a shower that actually had proper water pressure — honestly, after a day of walking around Milan, that matters more than you’d think.
What Makes It Special
The staff here really gets it — they’re helpful without being hovering, knowledgeable about the neighborhood without giving you the rehearsed tourist spiel. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the front desk person actually drew me a little map to a family-run trattoria that wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. The whole place has this residential feel that makes it perfect for couples (which explains why it gets such high marks from pairs) — you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-appointed Milan pied-à-terre rather than a generic hotel room.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want a big hotel with a pool and a formal restaurant, this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentically Milanese, where you can walk to everything that matters but still retreat to something peaceful at the end of the day, MokaMI hits that sweet spot perfectly. The location really is exceptional — close enough to the action that you never feel disconnected, but far enough from the crowds that you can actually hear yourself think. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though plenty of smart travelers have clearly figured it out before you.

Reviews of MokaMI- Cozy nest Via Anelli
Comfortable and convenient for seeing Milan – John from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (9/10)
Clean modern quiet secure and well equipped. A refuge from the heatwave. Not far from the Metro. Good information from the host
What could be improved: Check in process in as was slightly confused, but the host was responsive. Could have used a tea towel. That’s the worst I can sayVery good – Konstantinos from Greece – 3 January 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: The check out process that had to unlock a median door and leave the keys inside the apartment
A nice stay in Milan – Kaya from Netherlands – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
We loved the luxurious look of the apartment. Additionally, the location of the apartment was pretty reasonable. Finally, the neighbourhood felt really safe. And also the ac was amazing, very hot in milan so very essential, reslly glad we had ac.
What could be improved: 1 lightswitch was broken so it was very hard to press and keep the light on. And the water from the shower smelled a bit like chlorine however, the regular tap water was good to drink.Superb – Thomas from Australia – 25 July 2024 (9/10)
– Better than the photos online
– Modern and clean look
– Very Spacious and Comfortable Bed
– Easy to access room and services
What could be improved: – Nothing was really nice 🙂A great and spacious apartment while visiting Milan. – Toni from United Kingdom – 8 June 2024 (9/10)
The location of the apartment was easy to find- a short walk from one of the metro stops, but also at a great location in terms of getting around the city on foot. The apartment was really pretty, spacious and very clean upon arrival.
What could be improved: I asked for an earlier check-in prior to arrival on the day- which was approved. However, the keycode access hadn't been activated as of the time I had arrived at the apartment. This was quickly revolved after contacting the host. The signal by the entrance of the flat isn't great at all. Requires having to connect to the WiFi right by the door to access the online keycode system.Very good – Kay from Ireland – 11 April 2024 (8/10)
Very good location. Very aesthetically designed. Would definitely stay again.
What could be improved: Only downside was maybe the lack of towels and toilet roll as well as no soap. We had to purchase some for our two night stay. The lock system can be very difficult to comprehend – we didn’t have service so couldn’t access the email to unlock the door. It took one of us to stand above the stairs beside the front door of the apartment building and one to run down in hopes for it to work. After a few tries it worked and after we connected to the wifi there was no problems. After we got used to it, we didn’t have any problems.Very good – Natália from Slovakia – 20 February 2024 (8/10)
The place was cute, clean, bright, equipped with everything needy. Not far from the centre in a calm surroundings.
What could be improved: A smart door lock didn' t work when we arrived cos of low battery what was quite unconvenient. The landlord was nice, texting back that he was trying to solve the situation but the technician wasn' t avaliable immediately, actually we didn' t learn if he ever came and fixed it. It means, for 3 days we stayed in an unlocked appartment, but nothing happened.Good – Nicole from United Kingdom – 10 October 2023 (7/10)
Very nice and modern/fresh looking
Bed lovely and comfortable
Good location
What could be improved: I would suggest to have a toaster and cloth to clean the sides with.
The general property was clean but behind the TV/book shelves etc was very dustyVery enjoyable and good value for money. – Griffiths from United Kingdom – 8 October 2023 (9/10)
Good instructions and videos of how to/where to access property.
What could be improved: Would have benefitted from a video of how to lock the property as it took us a while to figure out how to do this. When we initially arrived at property at the time agreed the bedding had not been cleaned and no toilet roll. I tried to contact host however no reply, left a message but not called back. We had to go out to buy toilet rolls but when we had returned the apartment had been cleaned after our arrival time. Following this the rest of or visit was great and we really enjoyed the apartment.Superb – Molly from United Kingdom – 3 October 2023 (9/10)
Property was spacious, lovely and clean. Good facilities and a really good location.
What could be improved: After we had checked in somebody let themselves into the apartment. We believe this was a mistake as they were dropping off extra towels and toilet paper etc and probably didn’t know we had checked in. Other than that couldn’t fault it.
