First Impressions

When I first walked into MOMO HOUSE CityLife, I’ll be honest — it’s not trying to be something it’s not. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Milan’s CityLife district, and you can tell they’ve put thought into making the most of what they’ve got. The lobby feels fresh and modern without being pretentious, which honestly was a relief after some of the overly fancy places I’ve stayed in the city.

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually in one of Milan’s newest neighborhoods, where all those gleaming skyscrapers are reshaping the skyline. The Porta Garibaldi train station is close enough that you can hear the occasional rumble, but it’s not disruptive. What’s really handy is being walking distance from the Three Towers (those iconic twisted buildings you see in all the photos), and there’s a decent shopping center nearby when you need basics or a quick meal.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but smartly designed — I mean, this is Milan, so space comes at a premium everywhere. The bed was comfortable enough for a solid night’s sleep, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (something you can’t take for granted in older Italian hotels). The air conditioning actually worked well, which was crucial during my July visit when the city was sweltering.

Practical Considerations

The staff speaks decent English and they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, that’s not a dealbreaker when you’ve got authentic trattorias just a few blocks away in the Isola district. The wifi was reliable throughout my stay, and they offer basic amenities without any fuss — clean towels, simple toiletries, that sort of thing.

Look, MOMO HOUSE CityLife isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or concierge services, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need. You’re paying for a clean, modern place to sleep in a genuinely interesting part of Milan that most tourists never see. The CityLife area has this cool mix of business travelers and locals, so you get a real taste of contemporary Milan rather than just the touristy centro storico. Plus, the metro connections mean you can be at the Duomo in about 15 minutes when you want to hit the classic sights.

  Ho avuto un imprevisto all'arrivo ma la proprietaria si è subito resa disponibile, inoltre la stanza era accogliente e pulita (in bagno c'erano anche spazzolini e dentifricio monouso).

  Struttura carina anche se ancora in fase di allestimento … il frigorifero doveva essere ancora montato e ci avrebbe fatto comodo.

  What could be improved: Le istruzioni per il check in non sono state chiarissime. Il portone iniziale che supponessero era sempre aperto, lo abbiamo trovato chiuso e abbiamo dovuto fare un giro diverso. Il codice per la porta non funzionava ma l’assistenza è stata immediata.

  The place was okay, it says on the booking information that check in is at 3pm but this got changed to 5pm on the day. When we got there the place still hadn’t been cleaned and the cleaner eventually finished at 5:50.
  The neighbours were really loud so it would be nice to there to be some disposable ear plugs but other than that the place is okay. The bathroom seems new which is really nice.
  Grateful there is a lift as the place is on the 8th floor.
