Walking up to 2 Navigli, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream for attention — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique property sits right along the Naviglio Pavese canal, tucked into the heart of Milan’s most vibrant nightlife district. The entrance feels more like stepping into a stylish friend’s place than a traditional hotel, which sets the tone for everything that follows.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about staying in Navigli — you’re in the middle of Milan’s creative soul without the tourist crowds that swarm the Duomo area. The hotel’s location on Alzaia Naviglio Pavese means you can literally roll out of bed and grab an aperitivo at one of the canal-side bars within minutes. During the day, it’s surprisingly peaceful, but come evening, the whole neighborhood transforms into this buzzing scene of locals and visitors mingling along the waterway.

The Room Experience

My room had this modern Italian aesthetic — clean lines, warm woods, and just enough personality to feel welcoming. The windows facing the canal are worth requesting, though you might catch some late-night chatter from the bars below (comes with the territory in Navigli, really). What impressed me most was the attention to details — good lighting for actually reading, proper hangers that don’t fall off the rod, and a shower that maintains water pressure.

Neighborhood Insights

You know what’s great about this spot? You’re walking distance from some of Milan’s best traditional trattorias, but also close to the contemporary art galleries and vintage shops that make Navigli special. The Porta Genova train station is just a few minutes away, which makes day trips or airport connections surprisingly easy. I actually found myself using the hotel as a base for exploring different corners of Milan rather than just the obvious tourist spots.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.1 rating makes sense once you experience how the staff treats you — not overly formal, just genuinely helpful when you need recommendations or assistance. The restaurant downstairs serves solid northern Italian fare, nothing fancy but exactly what you want after a long day of wandering the city. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Milan rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense.

  We stayed here for 3 nights, before arrival we got all the information about the self check in and information on how to get there. Everything was very clear.
  The room was really clean and spacious. In the kitchen just outside the room, you can make your own breakfast which is basic, but fine.
  The staff is really friendly and if you need anything, they answer really quick and even came within 15 minutes.
  Navigli is a really nice neighborhood, where you feel safe, during the day and night it's really busy with a lot of great restaurants and shops.
  The big tourist attractions are also really close. (Walking or tram)
  We absolutely had a lovely stay here and I would definitely recommend staying here.

  It was right in the heart of Navigli. You really can’t get any closer to the nightlife of Navigli than this.
  
  What could be improved: Not so much a dislike but just a heads up: this area is in a walking only area, so your taxi (if you take one) will drop you off right outside of the strip and you’ll have to walk around 2 minutes to get to the actual place.

  There is an Italian breakfast if you opt for it, that is left in the kitchen. The area is good. The room was big.
  
  What could be improved: Parking is tricky, you are lucky if you find parking near. If you are traveling by car, you can't enter to the pedestrian area. We were lucky we found one, across the street, but there is a possibility the car can be towed

  Location great. great room and facilities. Everything neat, clean and tidy…..plenty of good restaurants close by and close to the city….20 minutes walking to the Duomo as an example and plenty of good public transport close by…..breakfast is continental and you help yourself, but very nice.
  The staff/owner are remote but helpful by WhatsApp if you need them.
  
  What could be improved: I was a bit dubious about the no staff and the seemingly complicated instructions to get in but it's worth it and it's not complicated at all…..and as hotels go with the cost of milan, 2 Navigli was priced very reasonably and, in my opinion great quality…..
